Pros

This review will useful only to people who plan to join Affine in USA (on F1 OPT). I have not worked in India office and cannot comment about India processes and experience. 1] You will learn the office politics and onsite-offshore leg pulling strategy. 2] Some of people who came onsite from India had completely unrelated education (BTech in Civil, pulp, textile etc). So good for people who are looking to come onsite but do not have related education. 3] Work in Affine and you will be ready to face the reality of life :)

Cons

1] Extremely risky for F1 OPT students. 7 H1B visa’s were filed in 2017 and all 7 got RFE’s and ALL 7 GOT REJECTED. Advice to F1 students - Students who have done MBA/Non STEM degree from US - God bless you if you still want to join Affine US and waste your only 1 chance of H1B. STEM students - Better join as contractors somewhere else, at least you have chance of becoming full time employee and then H1B 2] Not a single American on Affine payroll and this will be risky in near future. With the kind of policies Trump government is announcing, Affine Business model will be in deep waters. Even their management team had to head back to India because of L1 visa issues. No diversity, full DESI culture(in bad sense) 3] Extremely bad management in Seattle - I joined Affine as business Analyst after completing my MS from Cincinnati. I was told that the requirement with client (Microsoft) is urgent, and was insisted to join in 2 days after offer. Once I reached Seattle, I was not assigned any project for about 15-20 days. With no work/no access I had nothing to do but sit home. This was just the start of bad things. 4] There is no dedicated HR/Admin in US. HR works from India. All your flight tickets/ laptop will be taken care by one of the colleague in US. No one to answer your questions (OR maybe they don’t want to answer it and keep you in dark before joining) 5] There is no permanent sitting arrangement (desk/cubicle), and all employees sit in break out area/canteen and work. It really gets cold in Seattle. As Vendors we are not allowed to swipe more than 14 days a month. (So WFH remaining days). Affine is not preferred vendor for Microsoft (Infosys, TCS are). Infosys has designated desks for its employees. (Better to join Infosys than Affine :)) 6] Affine call themselves “Management consultants”, but the kind of work they do makes them more of “Body shopping” agents. Deadlines are very strict and often you end up working 14-15 hours a day. There is nothing called as Weekend. 7] You have to sign a 5000$ bond for H1B. If your H1B is selected then you cannot leave the company for 12 months. If you leave it before that, then you pay the visa filing fees back (5k) 8] Office politics is so bad that in one of the office parties two guys had a fight ..literally physical fight... LOL

Toxic Leadership

Pros

Observing the leadership team can provide valuable insights into the qualities and traits you would prefer not to adopt in your future leadership roles.

Cons

The organization is significantly influenced by a specific group of long-term employees who hold considerable power. Conforming to their expectations by consistently acquiescing may ensure a conflict-free environment, but failure to do so could result in mistreatment. The leadership team, unfortunately, has a tendency to use offensive language regularly, creating a culture where such behavior is accepted. The team is characterized by a lack of assertiveness and independence, making them appear as figurative puppets.
