Pros
- Benefits - Inspiring CEO - Colleagues
Cons
- They have a 'work your way' policy which should be renamed 'work your manager's way', very much forcing a presenteeism culture - Massive disparity of salaries & benefits; i.e. expensing mileage - Far too many people have been promoted based on tenure/who their friends are over experience - Culture is just a few posters on the wall outlining what the values are, the most laughable suggesting you can challenge the status quo with the reality being a mark against your name should you even risk it

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review on your employment with us. It’s disappointing to hear that you feel your experience hasn’t been positive, particularly given your length of service. We believe that culture is an integral part of who we are, and a place where you’re able to bring your whole self to work, and we are proud to be inclusive and diverse. We recognise and reward employees for their contributions and believe in celebrating success. Your comment around work life balance is disappointing as we pride ourselves on our 'work your way policy'. Our glassdoor reviews are at the discretion of our employees and former employees and it is important we take the time to understand both the positive and constructive points made as we will do so here. The business is growing and evolving, and we continue to implement a number of programmes this year to develop our teams at all levels. We look to provide the support and tools for everyone to achieve. If you wish to discuss this matter further, please contact me, Rowanne.smith@alcumus.com

Pros
Liked the people I worked with as well as the CEO.
Cons
Very backward thinking when it comes to working from home. They have a values system which only applies to management not their staff. You work long hours when it comes to travel with no thanks or benefit in kind. If you need to go to a doctors appointment you get told to make up the time even though you have just worked a 12hour day.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. We agree with you that we have some really great people within our business, including our CEO and are sorry to hear that you didn’t feel our values were embraced by all employees. We regularly recognise colleagues across the business for living our values at our company events and have begun to embed these into performance reviews and development plans across the Group. We appreciate that many of our roles require an element of travel, particularly those employees in client facing roles. We are currently working hard to utilise Technology to reduce travel to support the Health and Wellbeing of all employees and our HR team are reviewing our People policies with a focus on flexible and smarter working. Once again, thank you for your feedback. It’s important for us to learn about the experiences of both previous and current employees so that we can make our working environments better. On behalf of Alcumus, I wish you the best in your future endeavors. If there is anything you like to add, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me directly: terri.foulston@alcumusgroup.com

Pros
Has some good benefits since the recent change with terms and conditions, pension being one of them. Although there is no work life/home life balance with the company.
Cons
The business expects you to work long hours and travel ridiculous amounts of miles for low salary and you get no thanks for this, especially from management. I feel that they have made some incorrect decisions over the last 12 months and this has meant the company has taken a backwards step in my eyes. There is no career opportunities within the business unless your 'face fits'

Hi Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. As a business we are continuously looking at ways to improve and provide a working environment where people are valued and feel empowered to grow and succeed. With 38 internal promotions across the group in 2018 (Jan- August), we are actively encouraging our employees to develop and grow with the company. You are right, there have been a lot of changes recently; we have ambitious goals laid out for the coming years, and through our quarterly meetings, employees’ forums and roadshow sessions with the CEO, we are working hard to ensure that all feedback is taken into account, and issues are addressed/ resolved promptly therefore I am sorry to hear that our efforts did not meet your expectations. At Alcumus we genuinely care about our people, and we wish you the very best in your future endeavours. If there is anything you would like to add, please do not hesitate to contact me directly: terri.foulston@alcumusgroup.com

Pros
Working with some great people who support me everyday. I have a laugh every day! My manager and senior management team are very supportive and care about our wellbeing, development and how we are doing. The benefit package is really good; healthcare cash back, pension, money off discounts, gym discounts. We even have free fruit, food for lunchtime and a wicked coffee machine! The MD is really inspiring, the HR Partner is cool and supportive, the sales and delivery teams work better than ever to make sure we have great customer experience
Cons
The learning and development offering hasn’t been great, but the HR Partner is working hard with us on career mapping and cool things like Linked In learning

Pros
The external benefits such as the healthcare plan and shopping apps.
Cons
Middle management are not qualified to be in the roles. High turnover of sales staff is always an indicator of what a company is like - the sales turnover is atrocious. Everyone leaves with a bad taste in their mouth. As others have mentioned there is high favouritism for certain individuals.

Pros
Great onboarding and induction process - which cemented my view of Alcumus as being a people centric business. A fast paced environment - with ambitious growth plans that are exciting to be a part of. A positive and collaborative culture at all levels making teams feel proud to be part of the journey we are on. Good benefits package - good work/life balance! But ultimately - its the people!!
Cons
Some may struggle with the pace of the business - embrace that and enjoy the ride
