I have been working at Alexis Bittar full-time

    Pros

-Great coworkers and a very positive store environment. -Hardworking and supportive home office team and upper management. Great company culture and values. -Generous jewelry product allowance and great benefits package - Amazing, inspiring product - it's a joy to come to work every day! - I love that Alexis Bittar management prefers to promote from within and there is plenty of opportunity for growth. I have seen many reviews on this site from former employees complaining that they were promised growth and the company did not deliver, but I would argue that is not the case. I have seen many employees' careers stall, but it was because they were not willing to put in the work and earn a promotion. This company is absolutely a meritocracy and those who work hard and bring ideas to the table are rewarded. It's not a company where you get promoted just because you work there for a certain amount of time - you need to earn it. Conversely, I have also seen many deserving employees receive a promotion (or several!).

    Cons

-Work life balance for management could be better; it is a small team so all management jobs carry a heavy level of responsibility. -Quality control issues with past product - this issue has been fixed but we still hear from customers about it.

    Pros

Colleagues were pleasant; occasional lighthearted incentives; being in a small company provided ample opportunities and freedom for decision making; can learn a lot in a short period of time

    Cons

Not a fan of upper management: Many do not have the slightest idea of what occurs in the retail division and make too many assumptions; Some are way too egotistic, therefore, blocking room for company growth and employee success. Also, employees are not properly compensated for what they deserve. Instead, their positions and pockets constantly become trivialized. Poor decisions occurred too many times: There have been some really terrible ones in the past and I don't need to be a part of upper management/corporate to see right through it- Plain foolishness has placed the company in too many unfortunate circumstances and the outcomes show for it. And nothing ever gets done. Seriously, never. Oh, upper management.

    Pros

hour long lunch breaks to get away from the horrible upper management

    Cons

had to close a high end jewelry store by myself with no one else there. Glass windows and counting cash at the only reciter could have been horrific. Thank goodness I kept pepper spray on me. A young girl closing a store with thousands of jewelry by herself will never be ok. My advice is to make friends with the neighboring stores and doormen so you can have a security backup. DO NOT WORK HERE

I worked at Alexis Bittar for more than 3 years

    Pros

Amazing opportunity while I was there. Company was small and very hands on. I was able to work closely with upper management and growth for the company and my position was on the rise. There was a real team effort and it was fun to come to work every day.

    Cons

As company grew, management hires were way off track. People with little experience or a poor understanding of the company culture were left too long in positions they were not qualified for. This resulted in the company being steered in the wrong direction, loyal "lifers" were forced out and overall focus was lost.

    Pros

I absolutely love the brand. I think Alexis is a genius in what he does. Extremely eccentric. Bring the brand back.

    Cons

Long hours with not even an iota of a "THANK YOU". One person handle multiple positions is ludicrous. Upper Management needs to be team players as well!

I have been working at Alexis Bittar full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company used to attract talented, interesting, smart and genuinely amazing employees sprinkled throughout every department and at every level. Good allowance policy for retail employees. Customers are always very pleasant and fun. Music in the store is good.

    Cons

Rapid expansion of the company makes it hard to keep up with the saturation the brand. Not enough employees to have a normal and efficient and productive day. Rude directors/upper-management that have a "belittle people to gain respect" method of working. A lot of hype about being a left field, out-of-the-box, edgy brand with a downtown origin... Now just middle America jewelry that can't hold up waiting to be sold on QVC. No commission in retail anymore. A really bizarre mix of high end luxury and run of the mill commercial can be seen in how the business is ran, what kind of employees are currently being hired, the price point of the products and the in-store policies concerning them.

    Pros

Jewlery discount a plus. Retail hours of the store allow you to get out on time. Smaller store locations.

    Cons

Terrible upper management. The company does not know how to run retail stores. Disrespectful associates.
