I worked at Almis International full-time

    Pros

Interesting work with plenty of room to learn. Friendly and cooperative team. Hard work is well rewarded. Employees are given lots of responsibility and autonomy.

    Cons

Nature of work can become stressful at times, better planning/procedures could help with this.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Almis International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Incredibly intelligent and successful leadership. Not the typical one dimensional financial risk company. I saw that from day 1 of training !

    Cons

Nothing to say in regards to cons

I worked at Almis International full-time

    Pros

I don't have anything positive to say about this organisation.

    Cons

Unfortunately, this was a horrible place to work and that was mainly due to the Managing Director- JD.

I have been working at Almis International full-time

    Pros

Almis has provided me with an exceptional platform to learn and develop my skills/understanding of finance and banking. The nature of the business ensures that work is both challenging and interesting and no two days are the same. The large client base and product complexity can often insight pressure, however, I feel this is an integral platform for personal growth. Employees are offered exposure to clients on a regular basis and in a number of forms - I believe that this type of exposure is hard to come by for most graduates. I feel extremely proud to be part of a bright and hardworking team that provides an unparalleled, market-leading product and is committed to client delivery. The last year has seen the company significantly improve a number of internal processes and future developments/projects make for an exciting time.

    Cons

If you are not committed learning, pushing your boundaries and you are satisfied with a 9-5 checkbox job then this possibly is not the best place for you. We have seen a couple of disgruntled and entitled employees leave over the last couple of years and they have purposefully caused disruption to the others who are committed to the team and business. This did lead to slight toxicity but it has been resolved now that they have left. Depending on your current work assignments, the office can provide slight distractions - it would be great to see a 'work from home' initiative introduced.

"Great company to learn and make a big impact from the start"

I have been working at Almis International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Excellent opportunity to learn about asset liability management within the banking sector, and more recently with our new product, how treasury management functions operate. - The role is very varied, and since the company is still fairly small you get the chance to be involved and make meaningful contributions in lots of different projects often simultaneously. - Great exposure to clients from 50+ financial institutions, who over time you get to know well. - Friendly team, who all muck in together to help each other with support, implementation and client training. - You're kept busy! Lots of new developments, new products, new regulations. For most of the time this is a good thing, it develops time management and prioritising skills and make you learn quicker - at busy times of the year like during major software releases this can be a negative. - We've made lots of positive changes in the last year by improving internal systems and processes, and this work is continuing into 2019. - You're not micro-managed so can make your own decisions and prioritise your workload, and ask questions when you need to. - The growing team is helping us work with more specialisation and improve the client experience.

    Cons

    - Performance reviews / supervisor catchup meetings are too infrequent. - I think deadlines to work to would make it clearer what is expected and when, especially when you first start. - Busy office environment when everyone is in, can be noisy which is distracting. - No work from home policy currently, it would be good to be more flexible and have this as an option.

    Disapproves of CEO

    I worked at Almis International

    Pros

Some employees are clearly loyal enough to burn ex-colleagues online on behalf of their CEO.

    Cons

7 out of 9 of the dev team have quit in the last year. All had similar reasons and you might want to consider asking them about it before applying to work here. Bear that in mind when reading the other reviews. Hint - The last review is as genuine as the tooth fairy. It was not written by a recent developer. The CEO wrote a genuine review praising his own performance to boost the company rating here (before it was flagged as management and taken down). The new dev review went up immediately afterwards. If that's not a big enough red flag for you go right ahead.
