The downsides of working with AmeriGas is that when corporate decides to move our office duties back to Pennsylvania, left everyone in Phoenix out of a job.

    I worked at AmeriGas part-time

    Pros

Extremely wonderful sales and marketing team.

    Cons

Offices always seem to always be short staffed, while they want "more" continually from their employees. Safety first-is preached through but there is a "just get it done" mentality. Very top heavy corporation with little regard for the man in the field working 12 hour days, from a short staffed office.

    Pros

Company Car, Great Pay if you are around 3 years or more. Pretty good benefits. Lots of meetings in random cities.

    Cons

Departments don't communicate with each other, no training, sales management disengaged with reality. Motivation to sell quickly leaves after your first few deals dont pan out and no one wants or knows how to help.

    Advice to Management

    Training for Account Managers

I have been working at AmeriGas full-time

    Pros

None come to mind at the moment.

    Cons

Toxic workplace with terrible leadership. 0/5. Do not recommend.

    Advice to Management

It is quite apparent that the management are posting phoney reviews since no employee would know or post the supposed percentage of company growth (12,983%? Wtf). This company is all about smoke in mirrors. They've fooled some investors into bankrolling this non-business but will be falling apart soon enough.

I have been working at AmeriGas full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Operating system is SAP, benefits and pay are okay, employee price for propane, and the employees.

    Cons

It's all about the bottom dollar, the shareholders, and how many competing propane co.'s they can acquisition each year. Reduced hours have become the norm from April to August (for hourly employees), pto must be taken from April to Sept. (which is the time the offices are short-handed due to reduced hrs.). Employees are also expected (during this timeframe) to complete on-line courses, attend training classes, learn new processes & procedures, and answer all the calls for promotional specials that have been mailed out. No opportunity for local advancement. Avg. raises are 1.5-2%, and avg. market price per gallon for customer's is $4.29-$4.89.

    Advice to Management

If you're going to manage and advise your employees you should know how to do the their job. And, whatever happened to promoting from within the company based on hard work and experience?
