I worked at Analysis Group full-time

    Pros

    - Good compensation - Smart colleagues - Challenging work

    Cons

    - Senior stakeholders do not want to provide feedback - Don't care about employees only finishing tasks quickly - Absolutely no work life balance - Little racial diversity and non-inclusive environment. questions are received with suspicion, held to a higher performance standard than peers, initiative is seen as over-stepping -The company is constantly hiring as employees work here for a while and prefer to... leave. - Would only recommend to people who are willing to trade their 20's for cash

I have been working at Analysis Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Work life balance. Unlike consultants at the firm. IT is not expected to work crazy work hours. Once you are done with your shift you are not expected to answer anything. Pay and bonuses are very good.

    Cons

No growth within the company. The turn over in systems is crazy and management does not see this as an issue. They prompt to meaningless titles and constantly claim there is opportunities for growth, however you will end up doing the same thing. Instead of growing within they rather hire externally. For a large firm, policies and procedures are not written and go by a strictly "if they complain enough we will do... it". There are two people who basically run systems so your opinion never matters. Terrible IT practices that amateurs would never even do. If you are OK with high pay and customer service this is for you. If you care for your personal development move on.

    Advice to Management

Stop micro managing and actually set up guidelines so those can excel. Stop focusing on ticket metrics and actually invest in the IT infrastructure so users can effectively be helped. Provide more training opportunities so those don't get bored and leave the company. For a firm that prides themselves in security they should really audit what they are doing. Lastly, the communication is awful. How is one suppose to... do their job correctly if issues aren't being communicated?

I worked at Analysis Group full-time

    Pros

Smart colleagues, even though sometimes overconfident in their own intelligence. Lots of perks. Decent compensation.

    Cons

Depending on where you end up working, it is nearly impossible to strike a good work life balances. While I do not have an issue with working hard, I think sometimes their expectation of analysts are unrealistic. I once heard a VP say "Well i have to do it too" in response to an analysts complaining about having to working many weekends and late nights for an extended period of time. The review process is well... intentioned but deeply flawed and not really transparent. They tout a 360 review process but this, like the "functioning internal labor market" and their focus on "individual development," can sometimes seem like just marketing rhetoric rather than an actuality.

I have been working at Analysis Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very structured. Treats interns seriously and allows them to contribute right away. Clear career path. Good mentoring programs.

    Cons

Analyst tasks can get very tedious as we are often given less demanding roles in a team-- reading/scanning/synthesizing information from thousands of sources. Not a lot of opportunities to develop data/quantitative skills.

I have been working at Analysis Group full-time

    Pros

Opportunities to develop data analytics skills, friendly and respectful colleagues, generally well-managed company

    Cons

Seniority-based promotion leaving little room for growth; analysts are expected to attend grad school/leave for other jobs after 2 years. Work/life balance can be horrible at times ahead of case deadlines.

    Advice to Management

Try to install better cultures in the office and make sure that employees feel like they are valued for their work.
