I have been working at Analysis Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very structured. Treats interns seriously and allows them to contribute right away. Clear career path. Good mentoring programs.

    Cons

Analyst tasks can get very tedious as we are often given less demanding roles in a team-- reading/scanning/synthesizing information from thousands of sources. Not a lot of opportunities to develop data/quantitative skills.

I have been working at Analysis Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great snacks. Great benefits, especially health care coverage. Smart people.

    Cons

As noted in prior reviews, managers can get away with bad behavior and nothing is done about it. You will lose a ton of good people if you do not have accountability for bad management. It is short sighted to keep one bad manager around and lose numerous lower level people. Abusive behavior should not be tolerated, and even rewarded, the way it currently is.

    Advice to Management

FIRE BAD PEOPLE. Respect lower level employees. Do not promote people who treat others badly.

I worked at Analysis Group full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

AG was an amazing place to start my career. I gained invaluable technical, communication, and problem-solving skills. I was challenged, trusted, and given the opportunity to grow. Perhaps most importantly, I was surrounded by people who worked hard and thought critically, while also showing kindness and being supportive. Unless I find myself back at AG in the future, I think it’s unlikely I will ever work with a group...

      Cons

Given the demanding clients and non-negotiable court deadlines, late nights and unexpected requests are inevitable. In most of my experience, AG had the optimal structure in place: a clear long-term plan with strong direction from senior staff and helpful guidance from associates and experienced analysts. This led to a cohesive team that bought into the vision and functioned smoothly. In some instances, the team...

      Advice to Management

The review system is well intentioned, but could be modernized. There is frequently a delay between the end of a case and the review period. This impacts the reliability of feedback provided and the effectiveness of suggestions for improvement. AG could conduct case-specific reviews at the end of each case and then check in for ongoing cases twice a year. Additionally, it doesn’t appear that necessary feedback is...

      Pros

Analysis Group definitely compensates well for its demanding work environment.

      Cons

It is difficult to have a work-life balance due to a highly unpredictable schedule.

I have been working at Analysis Group full-time for more than a year

      Pros

AG only hires the best. As a result, the consultants have a lot of respect for the admin departments. Everyone is appreciative of your work, and overall it's a very supportive environment. When someone asks me if I know another employee, my answer nearly always begins with, "Oh yeah, they're really nice," whether they're top management or an analyst. We seem pretty buttoned-up from our website, but in our offices we’re...

      Cons

Because AG only hires the best, perfection is basically mandatory. In certain instances it may be your actual job to be perfect. So, that can be stressful. Since the consultants have a (natural) focus on billable work, it can be tough to get them to focus on other items that may need their attention.

      Advice to Management

Continue being mindful of negative feedback across offices and ways to fix issues.
