    Pros

If you are in sales and you want to push yourself to see how good you can be then this is the place for you. A game-changing sales process, market-leading product and relentless drive for success makes AppD unique.

The senior management team are obsessed with developing their teams to ensure individuals are the best they can be and they deliver incredible results consistently.

The attention to detail is second to none and the results speak for themselves.

    Cons

If you don't want to work hard, don't want to be pushed or can't deal with pressure then this is not the place for you.

I have been working at AppDynamics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work is interesting and challenging. Lots of autonomy and freedom to take ownership of your work and being able to see the impact you have is pretty amazing!
The people who work here are great, very talented and passionate about what we are doing and where we are going. The direction the company is heading is super exciting and I would recommend anyone given the opportunity to join the company.

    Cons

If you don't like a challenge and fast pace environment then AppDynamics may not be the place for you. Lack of process sometimes means things can get a bit chaotic but you expect this from a company growing so fast.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing.

    Pros

    - Incredible training and support. So long as you are willing to work hard, they will support you every step of the way. You'll notice growth even within the interview process.
    - Unrivalled compensation and benefits.
    - True meritocracy, the more you put in the more you get out, with constant incentives motivating you to reach your professional and personal goals.
    - Genuinely inspiring leadership. Management leads by example and continually trains and develops you.
    - Brilliant social atmosphere - regular work socials and nights out, training in San Francisco, fiscal year kick off trips to Vegas and big incentives.

    Cons

    - The hours are long, and there's no excuses. Once you're settled and have business coming in you can be more flexible, but be prepared for 15 hour days and logging on at weekends for the first few months.
    - Initial onboarding could be more structured, however this is actively being developed, ready to roll out for new starters.

    Advice to Management

None needed, they know they're smashing it.

I have been working at AppDynamics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Surrounded by highly intelligent and motivated people.
    - Market leading product
    - There is a big focus on personal development
    - Earning potential very good
    - The leadership is abrasive but in their own way they do care about developing people

    Cons

    - AppD have a set, very specific sales process and way of doing things. It is enforced by a set, very specific, abrasive style of management. It can feel a little robotic. Many swear by the process and it clearly has transformed a certain type of person for the better. For others it’s stifling, limiting and doesn’t work at all. You’ve got to think very carefully about what type of working / management style you are looking for and will thrive under before joining. It has nothing to do with how driven, ambitious or smart you are, rather the question you should ask yourself is how do you like to learn?
    - The sales team in particular is in a state of perma-stress.
    - The EMEA organisation is a cult, cast in the personal image of the GM - people swear an unquestioning loyalty and obedience regardless of what goes on.
    - Onboarding is a mess

Meritocracy environment, everyone @ AppD is hired based on the same criteria so you are working alongside like-minded people which pushes you to get better everyday, challenged daily, continuous development, inspiring leadership, great product, accelerated career development and opportunities to grow.

    Cons

Not a 9-5, can be difficult to manage a personal life alongside doing what has to be done to be successful in this company.

    Advice to Management

Continue to push us to be better everyday, continue to hire A players

I have been working at AppDynamics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - A true professional test of who you are and what you are capable of. If you want to work in a culture of excellence, then this is the place for you.
    - Leading big, complex challenging deals that are strategically aligned to pressing and relevant IT/Business initiatives
    - Working for the Top 1% of Sales Leaders Globally (data point)
    - Data driven culture
    - Top class CEO
    - Clear vision for growth and product roadmap
    - AppD is known throughout the industry for producing the best sales talent - so this looks brilliant on your CV
    - There will always be one leader that will truly invest in making you brilliant and will truly care about you and making you achieve everything you wanted from your career.
    - Earning potential is there
    - Exciting life where you feel the adrenaline of achieving big things
    - Incredible perks and travel and President's Clubs
    - Fairly flat structure where you have lots of senior people at your disposal to help you and progress your deals

    Cons

The below points aren't necessarily cons, but they are things to be aware of

    - Work / life balance can be a challenge due to the culture of excellence. But this is to be expected. Nothing great comes without sacrifice.
    - Leadership can be challenging to work for when you are not aligned with their views. Listen and learn and one day you will get the chance to comment when you are in their shoes.
    - It's a politically charged atmosphere and you have to be conscience of this (just like in life)
    - This isn't the place for you to challenge the data that made the company great. Follow the leading indicators and the methodology and success will come and you will enjoy working there. Don't and and you wont.
