Pros

Dear Recruiters, before reading all the forced positive reviews posted here, just do one thing on LinkedIn. Type Approach People Recruitment => 58 results. 18 employees are working for Approach People Recruitment for less than a year (wondering why?); 18 between 1 to 2 years; 9 between 3 to 5 years; 2 between 6 to 10 years… What a turnover, isn’t it?

Cons

Is it due to the behavior of both CEO? Or to the Recruiter/HRBP human interaction ? Recruiters, before joining them, contact the 280 former employees and make up your own mind. That’s much more relevant than reading fake reviews!

Hello, Indeed, turnover is part of recruitment agency life. We do understand your frustration but we know that being a recruiter in an agency environment can be stressful and will not fit all personalities. We give new talent a chance to discover their inner recruiter and sometimes it happens that they decide to choose another career path. We sometimes relocate our recruits onto a new country however, the country or its culture may not fit their expectations and they may then decide to go back home. It is also true that some of our consultants have short-term goals such as: improving or learning a foreign language; or to gain experience in an international career. Once they have achieved their goals, some choose to continue to develop their career with us, but some choose to seek new challenges in other industries. Recruiters can sometimes decide to pursue a career in HR; some our previous employees after some successful years amongst our teams are now proud to work with Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft or Salesforce to name just a few. We wish you all the best in your career, Approach People Recruitment Team

Pros

You can tell your friends that you work with cool companies, thanks to an amazing director who signed great clients and expanded the company internationally, before being brutally pushed out by incompetent owners, once he had built it up for them. You can see the sea from the office (industrial part) Social events (which you have to pay for)

Cons

All of the 5 star reviews here are written by current employees under the supervision of HR/management. If you don't write one when they demand it, they will call and email you until you do. They do this with each employee, one by one, so they know who wrote what. Do NOT trust these reviews. I'm sure you can read and tell the difference. Most employees leave after 6 months. All consultants are junior recruiters who don't know better, as they can't retain experienced ones, mostly due to the reasons below. Unstable client base. Clients do not trust the company, as they always change consultants. Contingency recruitment all the way, throwing CVs on the wall, hoping they stick. The original founder was cheated out of the company. The current owners basically stole his whole concept and tricked him to sign off his stocks. They do not follow Spanish labour laws. They have already paid big fines for abusing the law to several former employees. You are expected to work 09:00 - 20:00 every day. You will get no training, no follow up, no career plan, none. Well, there is an online youtube video course they make you watch, so they can claim to have recruitment training programs. You are told to lie to your clients/candidates. You are based in Barcelona, but told to tell your clients that you are in Switzerland/Germany. They read your LinkedIn messages, to see if you're talking to other companies. (they have access when they pay for your premium, if they decide to invest that in you, which they might decide not to...) ...because they rarely invest in sources. Some consultants are left with LinkedIn Free to source with and nothing else. I'm not joking. There is no long term strategy/vision. The director/owner makes sexual comments to female employees. If they respond negatively to the attention, it leads to isolation from the group.... ...if they respond positively, it leads to promotions. (100% of managers in Barcelona are female) They promise sky-high on target earnings, but in reality only 1-2 people in the office hits their "targets". Very low basic salaries. No benefits/perks. Nothing.

Hello, We consider all feedback however many of the facts stated are either incorrect, incomplete or offensive. Here are few insights we follow and actions we set up that we would like to remind you: - Concerning our Glassdoor reviews, of course, we encourage our employees to write reviews and remind them of the value in sharing their positive and negative feedback about their experience. However it is on the recruiters’ own will to write one or not. There is no supervision from our HR team and reviews are anonymous so it is not possible to trace who they are from. - Note that we have as many International Recruitment Consultants as we have Senior Recruitment Consultants and Managers. We hire experienced consultants but we also give new talent a chance to discover their inner recruiter. As we want our recruiters to grow with us, we provide them with personalised training and follow up. As a result, 70% of our Recruiters become Senior Consultants in less than 2 years. - We have 2 offices based in Spain, with full legal and accounting entities, so you can be reassured that we do adhere to Spanish employment legislation and rights of our employees. - Our working day is from 9am to 6pm, excluding Fridays when our employees can leave at 5pm. - We have a career progression plan that is presented to all our employees on their first day and available at any time on the intranet. - Our Head of HR builds a personalised career plan with each employee following our global strategy and then follows their progression up to ensure their success at Approach People. - LinkedIn do not provide us with any access to the mail box of their users’ accounts. - 80% of the tools we provide to our recruiters require payment or subscription by Approach People and every employee as a LinkedIn Recruiter account. - We will always support people who have ambition and work hard to reach their goals. Smart people who strive for success and a career in management are very welcome in our agency. If you really have worked with our managers in Barcelona, you have seen how dedicated our managers are to the company by implementing business strategies and pushing cross business between our offices. They are also dedicated to their teams: social events organised every month, parties… - Here are a few of the benefits we offer our employees: English lessons for non-English speakers, prestigious holidays in an exotic destination for two for a week, uncapped and accelerated commission system, incentive schemes all year (a chance to win suits, computer, laptop, console, Louboutin shoes, a spa day, outdoor activities etc…), international mobility within our offices, extra holidays with time, nights out, sport events etc… You can find the full list on www.approachpeoplecareers.com We welcome any ideas that we could implement to improve our company. Wishing you the best of luck in the future. Approach People Team

Pros

Other consultants are nice, I have good friendships.

Cons

Not structure on salary reviews, made to beg for one, even a small increase. Made to feel useless often, some of my friends have cried after a meeting. Everyone has much lower than market salary. No possibility to progress, they tell you can but no one does. Lots of bad style from directors - talk friendly to your face and then complain about you behind you. Always pretend to care and do nothing to make the job better. Go to the managers office and close the door all day. High pressures every month to make money but phone calls are hard to France , no changes to make it better. No training. Have no chance to make money as you can't improve. People who leave are treated very badly, bonuses not paid, managers doesn't talk to them. Nearly everyone is French, so no chance to improve English. Lots of people are looking for new jobs.

Hello, Yes, our consultants are amazing people and many of them develop lasting friendships, thanks for your feedback. Our goal is to recruit the best professionals who in turn recruit top talent for our prestigious clients, therefore, investing in our co-workers is the core of our strategy. However we do understand your frustration as we know that being a recruiter in an agency environment can be stressful. We would like to remind you of a few practices that we implement for our employees: - We have a progression career plan that is presented to all our employees on their first day and is available to view at any time on the intranet. - Our Head of HR builds a personalised career plan with each employee and then follows their progression to ensure their success at Approach People. As we want our recruiters to grow with us, we also provide them with personalised training. As a result, 70% of our Recruiters become Senior Consultants in less than 2 years. - Our managers and our HR team are always at the ready to listen to our employees, and help them handle the pressure of the agency environment. They also organise training on topics such as “Time Management”, for example, to help with prioritising and organisation techniques to assist employees in managing their workflow. - We also offer plenty of training (both on-site and online) from how to use a LinkedIn recruiter account, to managing your clients and finding top candidates for your market. Most of our training is also available to view, at any time, on our intranet. - We respect our colleagues decision to leave the company if they wish to do so. Some of our employees are keen to return to us, after experiencing what other companies have to offer, or after career breaks. For example, three months ago an employee re-joined us, having worked with us 10 years ago. - Concerning our Glassdoor reviews, of course, we encourage our employees to write reviews and remind them of the value of sharing their positive and negative feedback about their experience. However it is completely voluntary. Our positive reviews are given by our happy employees. Note that all reviews are anonymous and Glassdoor does not provide information on their identity. We are very proud of the number of positive reviews, from both current and past employees. We truly appreciate all of those who take the time to write a review for us, positive or not - as it enables us to understand what we are doing right and what we can do to improve our current policies and employee engagement, and provides us with an opportunity to highlight the benefits we provide to our employees. - We do have French co-workers but we also have Irish, German and Spanish co-workers in our Dublin office. We are currently hiring more native English speakers however, we are also recruiting German, Spanish, Dutch and Italian speakers because we believe that a culturally diverse environment stimulates open-mindedness and progressive development. All our open positions are available to view on www.approachpeoplecareers.com We welcome any ideas that we could implement to improve our company. Wishing you a very good day, Approach People.
