Company going from strength to strength in enagaging employees and recognising hard working staff.

Passion seen throughout the company of staff who are proud to work for a company with family values at the forefront..

    Cons

No cons.... all good in AC

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing.....

I have been working at Arnold Clark full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of overtime available, training provided, good wage, never stuck for something to do. Carreer oppurtunities, provided managment like you.

    Cons

For a company that promotes work life balance, having to work a full shift on a saturday can ruin your weekend which is expected once every 4 weeks. Virtually no time off aloud in March or September. Can be a bit of a struggle to get holidays aprroved when wanting time off. Expect certain people in your branch to be worshipped, as management have there favourites who get away with more than they should

    Advice to Management

Give employees instentive to work hard for you, wither it be bonus, buying lunch when targets met, or even just a bit of praise from time to time.
Allow employees time off in March and September. Be more flexiable with holidays and flexitime.

I have been working at Arnold Clark full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Commission structure for sales executives, new 5 day working week (not for me though, perks of a manager) discounts through the service and parts department, the buying power within Arnold Clark gives salesmen access to the best stock in the UK at the best price (we also guarantee it..)
The progression opportunities are incredible, I've been with the company for almost 5 years and at my age would never have dreamed of being a sales manager when I sat in my first "morning meeting." The support and trust given to managers is slowly improving and with the new think employee scheme its great to see employees getting their say. The access to company cars, hire drive discounts, health care benefits and the list goes on!

    Cons

Working hours, the same thing everyone else on here has moaned about.. But we knew the hours when we signed up and you get out what you put in.. So it's only a con.. Not a game changer. The work life balance is only an issue if you're unorganised, time off can be enjoyed even if it is only 1 day a week

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing, the approachable nature the company is taking towards its staff and management is spot on!

I have been working at Arnold Clark full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

reward, recognition, job satisfaction, job security

    Cons

Victims of our success, so busy as so many applications!

    Advice to Management

The business has supported a huge increase in youth employment which has allowed my own personal growth and promotion.

I have been allowed the autonomy to review existing process' and create new ones for Early Careers within the group. I am completely supported by my line manager and above, also finding myself praised on numerous occasions for my and my teams hard work, dedication, passion and commitment.

The company commitment has seen the original team grow from 4 people to 12, the roles of the team developed even further and the investment of an interactive apprenticeship vehicle to allow us to take to the road and visit schools/colleges/events across the UK to promote our business, work experience and apprenticeships.

I truly love my job and working for this business with family values at the heart of everything it does.

I worked at Arnold Clark full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The money was good, that's about it

    Cons

I was a victim of workplace bullying from a full time member of staff

The way this was dealt with was astoundingly bad, the person who bullied me was kept with no punishment due to being good at his job.

I have later found out this individual was let go due to other serious offences in the workplace.

The managers don't care about their employees
    Long hours

    Advice to Management

Time to re-think your policies and the way you run each branch individually
