    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Arriva Trains as an intern

    Pros

The company is very laid back and helpful. I received a lot of support from my mangers who gave me opportunities to grow my CV. I got to experienced many different parts of the business as long as I ask about it.

    Cons

There seems to be different view points between office and non office staff, though you can see improvement on this front over the years.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Arriva Trains full-time

Excellent benefits - free travel on ATW network and discounted rail travel in the UK, Europe and World Wide. Generous maternity pay and one of the best paid employers in Wales. Plenty of opportunity to progress within the Arriva Group.

    Cons

Annual leave allowance is low, have to take annual leave for bank holidays. Little or no opportunity for part time working.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Arriva Trains full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Free travel on Arriva group trains. 28 days holiday per annum. Variety of work - no two days the same. Commission to help boost basic wage if you put the effort in.

    Cons

Unsociable hours. Not greatest basic pay. Not much support from management who nit pick over stupid things. Minimal development opportunities to become guard or driver.

    Advice to Management

Support your staff. Good staff are leaving because of the lack of support in career development. Let your staff do the work and trust them. They are capable of more than you let them do.
