It seems partners are much more flexible with associates who have kids than with those who don’t. If it’s okay for my colleague with a kid to leave at 5 pm and log on later, why isn’t that the same for me (no kids)? My obligations might be different, but I still have a life and want to be able to do certain things, like catch that evening workout class or cook dinner for my partner. As you can probably tell, my firm is operating 100% in person. There is no point here — I’m just whining.

      Pros

Fantastic culture of diversity and inclusion, practically demonstrated by senior leadership and all throughout the firm

      Cons

Business support staff do not appear to be valued as highly as client facing staff, certainly appears that way from a compensation perspective.

Pizza Oven and work bar in replace of decent pay and real employee care.

      Pros

My team have a great work life balance, really friendly and great to work with. Decent benefits - bog standard for today's day and age.

      Cons

"The Family mindset is a sign of dysfunction in a company." They are very behind in the times! A new office with a pizza oven and pool table doesn't equal employee happiness especially in a time where everyone is working from home. I think they are very millennial based and that because a fun work place is a new concept to them they will fall for the false positives. Everyone is underpaid!(except those on top/lawyers). Everyone I have spoken to about pay all feel underpaid ,overworked and underappreciated. Salary is secretive and you can be in the same role as someone with same experience levels but be paid way less/more than them. Dead-end development opportunities, no real career path or salary range to aim towards.

      Pros

The team I work in (Risk and Compliance) are friendly. A lot of people in business support services are kind and understanding.

      Cons

Work/life balance isn't the best. There is a lack of respect and understanding by lawyers in the firm for the role of Risk & Compliance.
