Pros

- people are nice and respectful - there are some smart people doing good work here - employment is pretty stable

Cons

- 3 days/week in an old office that isn't as well equipped as my home office - any meaningful decisions take a VERY long time to implement - any career progression happens at a glacial pace

Pros

- Lower-level employees are phenomenal - Free lunch once a week - Stock sharing/Profit sharing program - Diverse work force - Solid vacation days - If you want to consistently underperform you'll likely never be fired (see my counterpoint in cons)

Cons

- The health benefits are pretty average - bordering on below average. - Many roles have little to no vertical progression. - WFH/RTO policy has changed 4 times in the past 3 years (voluntary, once a week, twice a week, thrice a week) and the trajectory is aiming for 4 and 5 days a week in-office with this pattern. - Director/Executive level management decisions can be short sighted, and give the impression that they do not care if employees left. This was not always the case. - Performance at work is not a priority. This can be seen as a positive (refer to last Pros point) except for the fact that you will need to work with these people closely and it will impact you directly at some point. - Over emphasis/focus on perception and optics: how associates are perceived by upper management is more important than how good they are at their job. - Beware that if your opinion differs from that of management's you should keep it to yourself. This also applies to private conversations you may have with your manager, director, and with HR. - Current HR manager is a fully remote worker who lives in a different time zone, in a different country. They can take days to respond to you. Also they are not aware of Canadian work culture and standards/policies. - Culture has been steadily deteriorating over the past 2 years. There used to be regular outtings and events, and a happy-hour in the office weekly - but now people just want to get home as quickly as possible. - Management will ask you to tattle/rat out fellow associates if you are here long enough. People are scared to lose faith with management and will rat out their fellow associates as to not have the magnifying glass put on themselves. - Management will refuse to apologize for mistakes/actions and this trickles down to the associate level. - There are multiple avenues for employee feedback: VOA (voice of associate) surveys, and Office Vibe surveys/anonymous feedback. Neither of these channels seem to yeild any positive results. Also beware of the anonymity. Management will try to narrow down who you are and use it against you. - Morale is at an all time low. - Management is actively driving talent away and Askuity will be seeing mass exodus. Beware of what this company will look like in 1 year from now.
