    Pros

Excellent employer with well-enforced code of conduct, strong collaborative culture, a focus on entrepreneurial leadership, and clear vision and strategy.

    Cons

Recent changes to geographic footprint has resulted in a lot of disruption and the loss of a lot of talented individuals.

    Advice to Management

Continue to build on work done connecting and integrating different parts of the business.

I worked at AstraZeneca full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It was a nice company culture and friendly environment overall, but too many and too frequent restructuring, most of which without clear purpose in long term perspective.

    Cons

No carrier progression but rather increasing overload and deteriorating work-life balance. Becoming more dysfunctional within time.

    Advice to Management

Keep checking and reminding yourself whyare you there and what are your main motivation drivers. Try to be honest (at least with yourselves).

I have been working at AstraZeneca full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great R&D history. Promising pipeline.
Seems the people are competent but they are not always placed on environments where they can perform

    Cons

Highly political and fragmented, leading to the status of non-performing or dysfunctional teams.
Talent management and promotion are not always co ducted in a fair way.

    Advice to Management

May need some structural changes in some areas. Need to improve leadership of many middle-senior management,

    Pros

Great product and opportunity to help prevent morbidity and mortality of patients with CV disease. Company infrastructure us improving but a long way to go. Need better focus.

Politics getting in the way of launch plans. Company hires people with expertise, and then Senior Managers who have no experience in the disease area but have longevity start to interfere and try and control the approach in the wrong way.

    Advice to Management

Allow the experts you hire to get on with the job and prevent opportunistic egoists from interfering

I worked at AstraZeneca full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Had a very supportive culture, but like most places it was very dependent on which team you're in and who your boss is
    Great at selling stuff!

    Cons

Crazy internal governance and decision making - very driven by personalities rather than reason
I left when things were going a bit crazy - hopefully things are better now.
The pipeline was looking extremely thin. Not sure it has transformed in the way the external world (and Pfizer) thinks it has
Talent management and development was for the few, and was totally dependent on the goodwill of your line manager

    Advice to Management

Improve decision making at the highest level
Make development and talent management accessible to all.
