I worked at Australia Post full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good career progression if you want it. Great pay for the industry.

    Cons

If you don't know the right format of interviews you will never get a promotion.

    Advice to Management

Encourage managers to identify staff looking for progression and coach them on interb=viewing, you may be missing out on good talent.

I have been working at Australia Post full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Friendly people who do want to collaborate and do a good job. They care about delivering a strong service for customers and the broader community.

    Cons

Internal PR is the over-riding mechanism to get the attention of EGMs, and this can mean that some people can be a bit over-zealous with it and claim benefits that others have delivered. There is also some ‘land grabbing’ that goes on between functions (often unnecessarily in my view) which can create a strained working environment.

    Advice to Management

Promote virtual teaming and recognition of virtual teaming. Have a cap on how many restructures are allowable over a 5 year period (not one every 6 months please).

I worked at Australia Post full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Pay was okay, team was great

    Cons

Regularly expected to do unpaid overtime. Expected to be in at least 10 minutes before shift commencement to be logged in and ready to take calls at your start time, smacked on the nose if you weren’t in and ready to go. If your call went over your shift end time it was too bad too sad approach. Constant abuse from customers for some really petty reasons. Coaching is more of a review of everything that you’re not...

    Advice to Management

Allow people to opt for certain shift windows i.e 7-3 or 8-4 or 9-5 and actually allow people to work what they want. Or create a system where people can easily swap shifts.
