I have been working at Avios part-time

    Pros

Really great place to work! From my experience, employees are treated really well with respect - plus really good benefits, Avios rewards and thank you's. Everyone has been supported really well during the current pandemic - in terms of flexible working, having regular catch-ups and team quiz/socials/drinks via Teams. Really good comms especially during Covid pandemic - weekly floorplate with CEO and LT - great updates and really encouraged to ask Q's Great colleagues - everyone's really friendly, open to new ideas and being challenged! LT are very accessible and easy to talk to, so not a hierarchical company at all. Real focus on Diversity & Inclusion too which is really important to me and lots of others. And finally some great products and projects to work on with great Teams - so many opportunities!

    Cons

Some old systems which are gradually being updated. Head Office is split across 3 locations which can be challenging to meet people/set up meetings, although using Teams is great so it's getting easier. Still need more bit clarity on new vision for IAG Loyalty.

I have been working at Avios full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Clear direction on where the company is going and a can do attitude Strong digital transformation underway Part of the IAG company with opportunities for development across the group Travel benefit and Avios currency benefits Flexibility

    Cons

The company is based across 4 sites, with a number of people relocated a year ago, so any of the negative review comments here do not reflect the Avios that I have experienced whilst here.

I have been working at Avios for more than a year

    Pros

Some seriously good, passionate and committed people here who will do very well in their new jobs.

    Cons

Mass job cuts, CEO who openly states that he works for IAG not Avios. Digital team that is being culled in an apparent pro digital company.

I have been working at Avios full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Lots of big changes afoot which is a positive. Lots of expertise within the business. Good travel incentives for staff, being part of the wider IAG family.

    Cons

Lack clear direction, have the knowledge but not the ability or buy in from the various IAG airlines to maximise potential. Everyone's fighting against each other. Stakeholders cant seem to align their goals resulting in confusion and lack of trust in their understanding of where the loyalty side of the business is headed. Lack balance between commercial goals and customer satisfaction - its more about the numbers than the customer.

    I worked at Avios

    Pros

Friendly teams and great people doing their best and working hard in very challenging conditions. Decent salaries and benefits. Ability to work from home.

    Cons

He who shouts loudest gets their projects through. No sense of business priority, the sales teams run around signing new deals and promising the earth without any reference to whether its technically feasible. Certain Senior Managers are building empires and trying to undermine other senior managers. No sense of collaboration at the upper levels with some bullying. No morale, christmas parties kept getting cancelled, IT Teams all on edge knowing that in the near future they will all lose their jobs and get pushed out at the behest of IAG.

I have been working at Avios full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It's a small company with connections to IAG. There's regular exposure to senior management and although they are busy they will find time for you. You get involved with a wide variety of teams and projects. I've certainly broadened my skill set while working at Avios.

    Cons

Everyone is busy, there is a lot going on and it can be challenging at times to understand the priorities.

I have been working at Avios full-time

    Pros

Successful company with connections across the IAG Group. Genuine focus on growth through improved customer engagement. With good exposure to Senior Management, there is a real opportunity to make a difference. Good travel benefits and working environment.

    Cons

In a period of transition, but will result in higher performance if people stay open to change.

I have been working at Avios full-time

    Pros

After 6 months British Airways staff stravel

    Cons

Management have no idea how to operate commision and will change month by moth so that company takes most commision off you hard working people. Run by so called management with no traning on systems and have just been brought in the usual was by other so called management friends. Briths Airways side of avios is most hard effected as the spiral plundges its an idea for all IAG investors to really knowwhats going to happen.

I have been working at Avios full-time

    Pros

good location some great people still there free coffee

    Cons

Senior leaders are just yes men for BA and IAG. Seem to make strategy up as they go along. Perks eroded over time to be worse than most. training is a joke, promise much deliver little.

I have been working at Avios full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good work life balance. Subsidiary of IAG and British Airways so is heavily subsidised for travel and without British Airways the company would not survive as it earns 85 per cent of it's profit from BA.

    Cons

New CEO / MD lacks an understanding of the business and as such has made some changes that have negatively impacted the business. The business struggles to make any profit outside of the BA relationship and it's own schemes are heavily subsidised by BA. HR is generally weak and have supported a lack of performance management.

    Avios Response

    December 9, 2015Recruitment Advisor

Thanks for the review. You're right that our key responsibilities are with British Airways and Iberia. With the growth of IAG, and our ability to attract airlines outside of IAG to adopt Avios, there's an exciting period of growth ahead for Avios. The majority of our profits will naturally continue to come from British Airways, but we recognise the importance of having new profitable income streams.
