    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Avios full-time

    Pros

Good work-life balance. Staff benefits are better than most companies. Everyone has the freedom and flexibility to do their job the way they see fit. Training is available to all - internally & externally.

    Cons

Lines of reporting are not terribly clear. There is discord amongst senior management. The support is not always there for junior staff to learn and develop.

I worked at Avios full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - travel perks - staff are friendly

    Cons

    - Big distance between senior management and staff - lots of change, not always clear why - created an unhappy workplace and culture of worry - head office split between locations

    I worked at Avios

    Pros

Friendly teams and great people doing their best and working hard in very challenging conditions. Decent salaries and benefits. Ability to work from home.

    Cons

He who shouts loudest gets their projects through. No sense of business priority, the sales teams run around signing new deals and promising the earth without any reference to whether its technically feasible. Certain Senior Managers are building empires and trying to undermine other senior managers. No sense of collaboration at the upper levels with some bullying. No morale, christmas parties kept getting cancelled, IT Teams all on edge knowing that in the near future they will all lose their jobs and get pushed out at the behest of IAG.

I worked at Avios full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good perks Work life balance (work from home, no staying late)

    Cons

No career progression at all Nepotism - not what you know but who you know If your face doesn't fit you go nowhere Severe lack of employee development Senior management don't live the values but expect employees to Junior staff are totally overlooked and their opinion is worth nothing Toxic company culture - everyone is waiting for redundancy or to hit their 15 years (to keep their British Airways concessions)

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Avios full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Travel benefits, bupa healthcare, free parking -if you are on the early shifts great if your starting after 11am then good luck

    Cons

Managers who have no people skills. A lot of deadwood in the senior management, age old vendettas between departments/managers. A lot of talk about culture but not much action(see above comments). Yearly personal objectives are a joke and were phoned in by my manager, not much to do to help you try and achieve a good bonus(if it gets paid). Briefings vary from manager to manager, mine didn't like to keep you updated as we all know knowledge is power, my manager didn't like to give you power. Some hr staff rude and unhelpful. If your looking for career progression to go up the ladder then it's not the place for you. The career progression left now is to sidestep or go backwards.

I have been working at Avios full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People are friendly, work life balance is flexible and the company itself has an interesting business model

    Cons

Big divide between senior management and workforce which results in a toxic and disjointed company. People are not recognised, valued or trusted. Career progression is stagnant. No talent pool or career succession plans in place.
