I worked at Aviva full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free Parking in Hollywood, great mission

    Cons

I don't feel that administrations care about its employees; communication and the atmosphere was horrible.

    Advice to Management

Management should hold those in executive positions accountable for their actions. Some staff did not act professional in the way they spoke to those they supervised and those above them were aware.

  3. "Good entry level work, low pay"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Aviva part-time for more than a year

    Pros

It is a good place for entry level workers who are looking to get some work experience on their resumes. However, for those with professional degrees the pay does not correspond with your professional experience/education.

    Cons

They do not pay well compared to other social services agencies that do the same work. The work environment can be very "cliquey" and it can be hard to break into the work culture.

I worked at Aviva full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Therapists and case managers are outstanding people--great to work with, provide really excellent services. The agency has high standards for their work product and has a good reputation. Benefits are good.

    Cons

Upper management is clueless about how to run a community mental health agency. They are relics left over from the era of residential care. They have no idea what's going on with their staff and middle managers. They maintain a fear-based environment. They pretend that salaries are good when they are lower than most other mental health agencies.

I worked at Aviva full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Good and generally supportive team. -Many programs offered.

    Cons

-LOW pay (~$40-55k/year) (ps., they always low-ball you upon hire... negotiate!); -BILL, PRODUCE, etc. This is all that matters to management. -Management is disconnected, although they make attempts to appear interested.

    Advice to Management

To start, living wages are important for the well-being of your mental health staff. Without that, you will continue to have turnover.
