Pros
Pay is good. Benefits and pretty standard.
Cons
Management promises things that can't deliver on. They don't back their employees. Upper management leads by fear. People have been there too long. Very 'grade school' mentality.

Pros
The salary was good and the vacation package was above average. Many experienced production and maintenance folks. Most people were easy to get along with.
Cons
Outdated management at the plant. 99% of upper management has never worked anywhere else and they are a bunch of old school folks. Old school style of thinking where new ideas are quickly shot down. The "this is the way we've always done it" culture is alive and well there. If you are someone looking to make positive change and improve things overall, this is not the place for you. Status quo is the rule.

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Axiall
Pros
Axiall has a great internship program that provides many opportunities for technical and professional growth. Interns are given plant, unit and shop tours to fully understand the companies production process. They also have access to almost all employee training. The company definitely values safety and the employees/upper management really cares about your opportunity to learn. Lastly, interns are given important projects that truly impacts the production, efficiency, safety, and transportation of their products.
Cons
Axiall Corporation does a great job making future interns aware of work requirements to be completed by the start date. However, depending on the time, you may have to wait a couple of months before your TWIC card is available. Without your TWIC card your plant access is limited.

Pros
They are trying! There are noticeable changes taking place. Although there is much further to go, I feel like Axiall upper management is doing some good creating a culture that is more respectful of hourly employees. The work pace is good. The front line supervisors are friendly. The union, although pretty much useless by most standards, keeps the company in check and structured. I feel protected against supervisors who would fire someone over personal feelings. The pay is improving and that is a big factor in deciding the future of my career there since employers have opted out of traditional pensions... The DOLLAR PER HOUR AMOUNT IS KEY.
Cons
Axiall seriously needs to shed the old PPG guard in middle and upper management. There are still many of these managers who resent hourly workers for something that happened ten years ago... The ppg strike of 06. There are some radical, extreme safety protocols coming that will make no amount of money worth it. I am really concerned about retention if they pursue these policies in the way we are told they will.

Pros
Pay somewhat well not as well as the people that are doing nothing.
Cons
To many friends giving friends jobs in upper management and allowing them to keep jobs even when the turnover rate in one department in particular is outstanding. No one is upper management knows what they are doing I'm surprised the doors are still open.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at Axiall full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
The people here are very friendly. Benefits and pay are average. Large facility with plenty of opportunity to learn new things
Cons
Upper management is very disconnected with the true problems in the plant. Plant is falling apart and maintenance planning/scheduling is pathetic. Management sets no priorities and leaves it up to the front line supervisors to fight over resources. Every group has their own agenda; very difficult to get support from other groups. Moral is poor ever since strike. Difficult to retain and attract talent; both management, engineers, operators, and craftmens

Thank you for your candid feedback. Our plants are vital to the success of Axiall, and we are working to increase employee satisfaction and morale within our facilities. We are also working to attract and retain top talent. We have and will continue to significantly invest in maintenance. However, all maintenance cannot be done simultaneously, but we are prioritizing the needs and being as proactive as we can.
