Anyone that has been a collection manager has been wonderful to work with (Julian was the best, Santiago has been good to learn from)

It's interesting to me that an employee can be spoken to and written up multiple times for the way they communicate to other employees, but they are always given "one more chance" because they are an ok collector. Apparently money is more important than a positive work environment. I was there over a year with no write-ups, and told multiple times that agents were coming to my team because of the way I conducted myself and my results, but when I try to address an agent about things that could hinder the business, my tone is wrong. I gave 2 weeks notice but was told I wasn't needed any longer the following day. This was so they didnt have to pay me my bonus. Cheap. And screwed the department for an end of a quarter. I was asked to come to the office and then told I may have been exposed to COVID. I was asked the following month to do the same - when I said I wasn't comfortable coming in, I was told it was part of my job. I again had to get another COVID test as someone had symptoms. Again, money more important than the safety of their employees. No career advancement opportunities unless you're "in" with the right people. It doesn't go by the work you do or how well your team outperforms another team (10 months in a row) Some agents get away with everything while others are constantly scrutinized. It's also terrible to hear that a VP goes around saying to fire everyone. Great for a positive workplace atmosphere, right? Workload between supervisors was also not equal. Good luck to those who go there, hopefully you'll leave in better mental health than I did.
