A lot of rules to follow to get things done. Quite often the easy solution/cheapest and most innovative is blocked from higher up.

I worked at BAE Systems UK full-time

    Pros

Colleagues, benefits and career development prospects can make this a great place to work.

    Cons

Each business unit and Head Office has a different culture - some are better than others.

    Advice to Management

Internal politics and conflict can stop collaborative working and distract from business goals. Vested interests need to be challenged from the top.

Varied and interesting high profile projects. Worldwide locations offer range of opportunities.

    Cons

Old fashioned management style. Promotion difficult in the management structure.

    Advice to Management

    "Insular and uninspiring leadership"

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

There are no Pros that I can attribute to my current role.

    Cons

    Resistive to change
Plenty of talk about lessons-to-learn and introspection, but no evidence of adopting any improvement proposals
Running a software house with no CI, no open technical steering and outdated prescriptive test verification
Management don't 'trust' their team members/workers to do the right thing. Such trust is earned, but with little willing collaboration that's almost impossible to achieve.
No professional development, no training plan, goals set retrospectively, no investment in you.
