I worked at BAE Systems UK full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great flexi time scheme
    Relaxed working environment
Excellent line manager who was pushy and encouraging
    Benefits are extremely good

    Cons

Some staff were unmotivated to go above and beyond their day job
Lack of strategic thinking which was frustrating
Pay and bonus scheme is poor compared to other Engineering companies

    Advice to Management

Understand the function that you lead. There seems to be a large disconnect between company and employee vision.

However, I believe hiring an external( new CEO) was a great decision. He is doing a great job to make organisation streamlined

I have been working at BAE Systems UK full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great pension scheme and basic salary!

    Cons

Company seems stale and not competitive.

    Advice to Management

Look more to potential young talent and get rid of ‘dead wood’. Charles seems to be putting the correct people in senior positions to adress this.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at BAE Systems UK full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexi-time (that’s it)
    Early leave on Fridays
    Christmas shutdown
    Coffees nice in the restaurant
Loads of parking due to dwindling staff numbers

    Cons

    Lack of progression
Poor pay compared to rest of the market
Pushed out and cast to one side if not part of the various cliques
Management not bothered about the high number of staff leaving as they believe people are begging to fill the vacancies
Processes put in place for the sake of it. Just to keep someone in a job.
Staff morale is poor due to poor pay etc
If you do join make sure you get as high a salary as possible as you’ll get lower than inflation pay rises after joining even though we are told every quarter how well and how much money we are making
