I worked at BAE Systems UK full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great company benefits including pension and share incentives as well as work/life flexibility.

    Cons

BAE is such a big organisation that there seems to be another team for every stage of a project which means that there's often not a lot of scope for project professionals to see a project through to completion as more often than not, the project is passed onto another team to oversee the next stage of work.

I worked at BAE Systems UK full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Person centred, supportive, eager to grow and nurture, hard to leave, employee focussed, safety driven & all round amazing company to be part of.

    Cons

There are too many strong willed individuals going the extra mile, not being recognised, whilst there are too many middle management, taking the victories, the shop floor individuals which have focus and motivation need to be harnesses, whilst those institutionalised and providing the bare minimum need to be highlighted.

I have been working at BAE Systems UK full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Employees are well treated. There is interesting work if you're in the right place, although some projects have long and tedious lifecycles. There is also a lot of support for development, training, and getting chartered. Flexi-time is fantastic.

    Cons

There isn't much vibrancy in the work force. Some projects are quite slow moving. Engineers perhaps not paid as well as they should be given that we are responsible for developing the products that are sold to customers. This is reflected in the age and motivation levels of many of the engineers. Also everything is very process driven, and this can make quite simple tasks much more difficult than they need to be.
