When England defeats India the news is front and centre on the BBC app. The opposite gets a short toned down headline under the Sports or Asia section. Such bias.

Quite hard to give an overview for such a large organisation

      Pros

*Many of the people are nice *Feel like you're providing a public service *New DG has seemed to promise more decisive, forward-thinking leadership, but too soon to say

      Cons

*Management in my albeit limited experience is generally poor: a lot of lip service while generally absent and uninterested *All decisions are deeply fear-driven *Organisational lack of drive or mission *Rubbish career progression, no interest in investing in staff, constantly feel like you're angling to get a foot in the door

      Pros

Wide range of areas to work and move around, smart and interesting colleagues, creative and stimulating work, global brand, a great new DG in Tim Davie,

      Cons

White male dominated boys club, poor pay and career progression, middle management resistant and slow to change, diverse but not inclusive culture, especially towards ethnic minorities whose careers are often stunted.

      Purposeful, creative, challenging

      Pros

Great work and super interesting projects. Surrounded by lots of smart, nice people. Clear organisational goals, and a great work/life balance.

      Cons

The pay is decent but opportunities to increase it are limited. The same goes for promotion and career progression. Unless your manager leaves or a sideward position comes up, you're kind of stuck in the same role, which - when you're doing good work and putting in a shift - can feel a little demoralising.
