I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Good people, casual dress code

    Cons

The pay is absolutely dreadful, work/life balance doesn’t exist in many operations teams with very low-paid and low grade staff working crazy amounts of overtime due to constant understaffing in some silly bid to cut operating costs. A lot of managers seem extremely unsuited/too immature for their positions which often creates a lack of empathy or general care for staff. HR is...

    Advice to Management

Get some people management training. People often are more productive when offered a carrot rather than a stick. Try to listen to the workforce, these are the people that ensure the good ship BNYM stays sailing. Look at actual market trends with regard to pay and benefits, and for Heaven’s sake, get with the times regarding flexible working!

I worked at BNY Mellon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have worked for BNY Mellon - Pershing for nearly a year. The overall environment was quiet featuring no stress or pressure from superiors, no tight deadlines or whatsoever. The team was great and helpful.

    Cons

An employee is just a number there. The overall turnover for the time I spent there was around 30% - 40%. In my humble opinion, this is due to the poor rate of wage (compared to industry) and the lack of opportunity to grow. Most of my colleagues have been working there for five-plus years in the same positions without any hint of being promoted in the foreseeable future. The work-life...

I worked at BNY Mellon full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The staff generally work hard in very trying and difficult conditions. I would have previously said work life balance not not any longer

    Cons

Management are all about themselves and not the greater good of the organisation. As for the new CEO , hes unbelievable. I've never known anyone to get so much wrong all of the time. He two best to date have to be stopping UK staff from having flexible working from home arrangements even when contractually agreed and then having to back track 3 days later, or not understanding why a so called client focused organisation...
