I worked at Banana Republic part-time

    Pros

Management team was on point. They knew how to give constructive feedback in a respectful manner and always praised successes as well.

    Cons

Found it difficult to live off the part-time pay. I know their minimum pay is higher than other companies, but still not enough to live comfortably.

    Advice to Management

Make sure all leaders are on the same page with processes and procedures. Sometimes it was confusing when one manager said one thing and another manager did things a different way.

I worked at Banana Republic full-time

    Pros

Good progression within the company. Good discount and benefits
    Decent clothes
Ability to flex up and work up to 40 hours even if you're contracted only part time

    Cons

    Rubbish pay
Don't really value certain members of the company. Considering you've been there a long time. New comers get better pay

    Stop being office managers
Work closer to your team every once in a while.
Value your staff that have been around for many years.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Great team environment and platform to develop and grow within the brand. Infrastructure and resources are great. Support from regional manager also very good and felt they were approachable, which is always nice. Small brand in the UK so as a manager, felt like I had real involvement in many areas of the business.

    Cons

Extremely high pressure to succeed, as a manager in stores, you have all of the responsibility but little authority to make changes which is extremely frustrating. Bonus completely not achievable and therefore no incentive. Very little work/life balance and you are expected to be married to the job. Salary not great.

    Advice to Management

    None.

Fleeting environment, both management and staff changes quickly
    Very little talent retainment, training
    Burdensome policies and procedures
Antiquated supply structure and product life-cycle
    Confused product positioning

    Advice to Management

    Modernise business
More focus on talent retainment and training
Ease up on policies and procedures due to diseconomies of scale
