Pretty stagnant growth; great if you don't have high aspirations

      Pros

      - If you get pirated from a different bank, the pay's not bad (for the rank) - Depending on the role, you'll get pretty good training (especially if you want to work in commercial banking) - You'll probably like the other people in your team - Chances are you'll be pretty chill - Job security is practically a given because: 1) they don't fire people; and 2) it's BDO - it's not closing anytime soon - There's free water in the office, and the aircon is very cold

      Cons

      - Culture is very clannish and backward. Forced all their employees to go to the office (100%) even during the quarantine lockdown. If you wanted to work from home, they would've charged your leaves for it. - Pay (and upward mobility) is very stagnant. They have 3 junior assistant manager ranks, 2 assistant manager ranks, 2 manager ranks, then 2 senior manager ranks. - Anything below AVP pays a shockingly low amount of money. Annoyingly, they would make you "management" just so they don't have to pay overtime. - HR is very slow - some people took more than 6 months before they got their final pay. HR also asks surprisingly invasive questions (like what your religion is). - The company is very bureaucratic. If you want to do anything, it'll take an absurd amount of time. Something as simple as getting a plane ticket requires a long, convoluted process with a lot of crying, bargaining, praying, and yelling. - The bathroom sucks.
