I worked at Bank Of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice place to work in general:
    Good work life balance
    Some really nice people
Good training opportunities and chance to work with staff across EMEA

    Cons

Low pay compared to the market.
Some people get away with doing little or no work and but it's easier to keep them than get rid of them.
Sexism and bullying can be ignored, anyone that complains is seen as a troublemaker.
The company is going through a lot of change which is being managed very badly with little or no communication from senior management.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting people find out about redundancies and team structure changes through rumours. It only adds to tension and unhappy atmosphere on teams.

    Pros

    Good location in the city
Sizeable balance sheet which give access to a lot of deals
International environment, fewer japanese than one would expect

    Cons

    Off-market compensation packages
Acquisition Finance team (Strategic Finance) is a cost center for this bank leading to poor to no recognition internally
Red tape everywhere, everything takes more time compared to others banks
Poor knowledge of the brand MUFG (few people know it)

    Advice to Management

Benchmark compensation against market given how far off MUFG is
