      Pros

Lots of benefits in addition to salary (leave allowance, work life balance). Stable environment.

      Cons

Slow to progress if that’s what you’re looking for. Performance review system is flawed for the modest. Some employees treading on toes just to get a good rating

      A great company to work!

      Pros

A great company to work for with great benefits and training available. Staff are treated well with a great work life balance!

      Cons

Lower basic salaries than private sector but more structured in terms of roles and given lots of opportunity for studying which is paid for by the bank and various other benefits within the salary package that total a private sector basic salary.

Good people and meaningful work, but appalling technology infrastructure and rigid hierarchy

      Pros

I worked in PRA supervision. Work life balance is good. Work is interesting. Lots of good exit opportunities and good external exposure.

      Cons

There are lots of very average managers in management positions. Lots of people work at the Bank of England for life and often lack motivation as well as management skills. Technology infrastructure is incredibly slow and bad. Internal tools are antiquated, slow, unhelpful, and frustrating to use. Graduates not able to apply until they had completed 3 years and 3 months of employment.
