I have been working at Bannatyne Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The fast paced environment leads to a everyday being different. New challenges are always there which keeps the job interesting and motivating to improve the club I am at. The staff are friendly and make you feel part of a bigger national team.

    Cons

Communication could improve which leads to people at club level not having some input on club changes.

    Advice to Management

Your GM's and club staff have a good understanding of the business. New ideas are extremely welcomed but communicating with staff will help with making changes support these ideas, which in turn with mean staff will adapt quicker and make those decisions profitable for the business.

I have been working at Bannatyne Group part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    The team I worked with.

    Cons

You are expected to train yourself in the retailing of products and should you not meet your target this will be noted in the performance reviews. When beginning your shift you are expected to prepare your room for the day. However, if you come in early to prepare (as your first client is at the same time as you start) then you will not be paid. If your last client finishes at the time you are scheduled you will... not get paid for time spent cleaning your room. Modern slavery perhaps! Career advancement only happens if your face fits and you get on board with the 'Bannatyne way'.

    Advice to Management

Live up to the investor in people award and provide proper training in all areas for staff. Don't treat training like its a gift either, it is a must for your business moving forward. Pay staff for the hours they work rather than being greedy and self serving.

    Pros

Busy, ever changing, you never get bored and the opportunity to progress your career is great. My Managers and all the staff that I work with are fantastic too.

    Cons

Sometimes time with clients can be a little rushed, so you try your best to make that not come through for them, your customer service skills have to be especially on point in this job, if that’s not you then the job isn’t for you.
