If you want to learn, the opportunities are there. You can use every spare minute to access the great internal training site. There's so much content to explore, the staff app is getting better and better. The company's focus on digital progression is inspiring and if you've an interest in these things, there's a lot there for you to keep you stimulated and engaged whilst at work. There are some very committed, hardworking people.

temp workers treated the same as permanent staff members. that might sound good but its not. in england and scotland temp members dont get given the responsibility or authority or empowerments like at my branch. temp staffs arent actually working for Barclays they work for Giant Precision,. So, when we as temporary staff members were being expected to undertake the same levels of security, empowerment, decision making, these where high risk. if a temp made amistake they could get fired but if a permamnent made same mistake just a slap on the wrist. what else was bad was there was a bad feeling from permanent staff for the temporary staff becos when they had to stay late at branch they said temporary staff were being paid for those hours and they weren't. They said temp staff were paid more this wasnt fair because temps get paid less after taxes. no sick pay. two girls got told over the phone there contracts were done and not to come back to work next day. they wherent told reasons. they just had to go home. that was by a manager. lots of rumors.... not fair to staff. lots of great people. the best. but also it messes with your head.
