    Pros

Great benefits Good brand Share purchase Health Care Technology/innovative

    Cons

Ethos is based on who you know, NOT what you know. Career progression is limited, the slogan"if your face fits" gets thrown around offend. Salary is not competitive enough compared to the work we do.

    Head of Resourcing

Thanks for taking the time to write a review and clearly disappointing to read your experience. I am not sure what processes you are using to progress your career but i would really encourage you to use the Internal Job Board to seek new roles, speak to the hiring manager before you apply to make sure the role is what you are looking for, use the tools on My Career to really make sure you present your "best self" at the interview and Good Luck.

Strong brand and a desire to grow

    Pros

Better capitalised than many and still independent of Government. Flexible working practices and premises mainly of good quality. Credit function becoming more enlightened despite difficult economic conditions

    Cons

Role scope creep with no discussion of improved remuneration is typical. Change of approach many years ago means that development of internal talent seems a secondary priority to hiring so called "top talent" from other banks. Some of these "hires" clearly knwo how to play the "Top Grading" game.

Hands down the best Investment Bank to work for....

    Pros

Friendly welcoming people (helped by the "no jerk" policy)! Emphasis on teamwork - only looking out for yourself is not accepted. Completely different atmosphere to the investment banks where I have worked previously - no hire and fire! Fantastic graduate development programme and ongoing learning schemes. They emphasise a balance between work and family life and the compensation/benefits package is almost best on the street! London Graduate salaries in particular. Ability to work abroad and move roles is an added benefit.

    Cons

Only recently considered to be a top tier investment house. Has grown so quickly that the back office/infrastructure occasionally struggles to keep up.
