Pros
Work from home one day or two in special circumstances. More stability, less big and deep hire/fire cycles as with American banks. Work may be interesting if lucky to be assigned to a good project.
Cons
May be assigned tedious support jobs. Lots of poorly written legacy code. Some managers lack people skills and are not able to inspire and motivate people. Team drinks after work - big inconvenience if one has a family and children.
