Horrendous Turn Over. Favourite's game. No progression.

      Pros

Some people are a great laugh, good staff nights out.

      Cons

The staff turnover is horrendous. In my 1.5 years there almost the whole marketing team had been replenished, the WHOLE social media team had left by the time I left and this was also mirrored in other areas of the business. The handovers were also shoddy due to very quick departures, making things stressful and messy. The Office is truly terrible. It's like an underground car-park which means it has no ventilation except a vent that brings in the stench of cigarettes from the smoking nook outside and ceiling fans that are turned on once a year and project dust and dirt across the office, if you're not close to the entrance stairs the lack of air genuinely makes you a little drowsy, it's so cold that people sit with hot water bottles at their desk in winter, and sweltering in summer. It's dark, depressing and the desks are too low and not fitted to the staff so you often see people balancing their screens on boxes, magazines aka anything ever. Yes, they do promote from apprentices, but there's no formal training and it's a face fits process which means there's alot of people in managerial positions with no clue of how marketing/business/the industry works outside the training-less Barrhead Bubble, this is frustrating if you're experienced and come in here with the knowledge that could develop the brand/marketing/ROI because nobody listens unless it's been something that they've done for years and years. The lack of training across the Marketing/Design/Social departments means everything is a hassle, disjointed and takes forever. Apprentices aren't treated well. I've seen apprentices tried to leave because they're treated poorly and not taught fundamental skills and then end up passed department to department. I saw head of a department send a marketing apprentice to a local brewery to pick up alcohol for a family gift, taking him away from a meeting/work he had to do for 1 hour+, it's embarrassing for them. It's a joke. Pay is massively lower than the industry average and varies massively amongst different employees. Some of the salaries I've heard are horrendous. After a manager leaving, we were told they wouldn't be replaced, leaving members of our team to pick up the managerial role, but Barrhead would not promote anyone nor give a minimal pay rise. however, they hired someone's friend for the role, with poor knowledge of social, without advertising the role 5 months later. Hmmm funny that. When leaving the company, many of our team did not get an exit interview, nevermind a bye on the last day from any senior management/management/HR, nothing at all which after 1-2 years of employment is a carry-on. Don't be lured in with the promise of glamourous over-seas fam trips, they're also allocated by who's face fits, regardless of the accounts you represent.
