I have been working at Baxter full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Board and leadership and focused on expanding product line up -Standard to good Benefits -Good PTO policy for salaried employees -Average compensation

    Cons

-Individual facility leadership quality varies greatly -Entire company seems poorly organized and cannot effectively along behind corporate goals -Many employees simply there for a paycheck and unwilling to do very much to collaborate and improve operations -Mid Tier leadership set in their ways and too focused on personal performance metrics to implement upper management’s changes

    Advice to Management

-Apply pressure, via new performance metrics, to your plant managers and below in order to drive changes. -Lots of lip service when corporate is in the plant then as soon as you are gone it’s business as usual -Root put your lazy mid tier managers -Many coasting along with no intention of contributing

I worked at Baxter full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits before they started to cut them down. Good colleagues before they started to leave the company.

    Cons

See what CEO did with Covidien to get an idea where Baxter is heading now. What had some value was sold already. Now they are making cuts like crazy, organizational changes, freeze on pretty much everything including headcount. If someone leaves, no replacement is hired and the workload is beeing distributed to the rest of the team, which leads to unpaid overtimes, flustration and another employees leaving the... company. Newcomers, if hired after a special approval, get no training and workload for 2-3 people and are leaving after few months as well. According to the reviews here, this is apparently not happening only here in Europe, but in other countries as well. The major impact is visible in Sales teams, where experienced people left to join our direct competitors, and the result will be visible very soon. I am sorry, but I can't recommend this company to anyone. You would ruin your carrier.

    Advice to Management

Don' t lie to employees about the future plans, they are not stupid. Hire more people and don't overwork them, make work live balance possible. If you want to keep costs down, overworking people and subsequent high turnover rate is not the way. Knowledge gets lost and you have to constantly pay the recruitment agencies to find new employees, who leaves anyway and the cycle continues...

I have been working at Baxter full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    - Great people - Flex scheduling - Pretty good benefits for new parents and caregivers - Good managers (at least for this employee)

    Cons

    - HQ is in Deerfield - Lots of work in the queue currently with not a lot of new resources

    Advice to Management

Weed out the folks who do not want to do the work and complain about how much they have to do. It's a time suck for everyone else who is just trying to get the job done.
