I have been working at Bella Italia full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The pros include:
Great team of people, you become a sort of family. Great opportunities to progress, good benefits (free meals on shift, 70% off menu items, 50% off across CDG). Good tips.. ish

    Cons

The company takes 3% off all card tips as an ‘admin fee’. Shifts are very very stressful as almost every table has a discount, meaning we are not allowed the labour to take the actual sales, because we take a lot less due to the enormous amount of discounts.
Hard to keep up with when and which discounts are actually available as there are so many, which angers customers.. terms and conditions are often ignored by guests and management have to accept in order to avoid complaints, so they are essentially redundant. Top management do not realise how hard it is to work when we have such low budgets available to us. We sometimes do not hit forecast despite the restaurant being full do to the amount of very low discounts, and therefore we cannot have the correct amount of staff to cope with the volume of guests.

    Advice to Management

If we are allowing all and every discount, give the restaurants and GM’s more staff to cope with the amount of people coming through the door and the amount of sales we are doing before discounts. Used to love working for Bella Italia, but with the amount of discounts available it’s getting increasingly difficult.

Senior management need to work in the restaurant when there is a popular network discount on.. to show how really stretched we are.

I worked at Bella Italia (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay as a waiter, and young staff so can make lots of friends.

    Cons

Management aren't very pro-active and the hierarchy don't seem to care about the waiters/barman. Very cliquey.

I worked at Bella Italia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None! Seriously! They are even cheap with the staff meals. Two toppings for a pizza! Joke...

    Cons

Everything. Management has no clue. If you are talented, forget progression and getting respect. The only way to the top is through kissing behind of the manager or being from the same country as the General Manager.

Company has been taken over by foreigners who backstab anyone not from their country and form cliques.

They are always messing with pay. Underpaying here and there. Trying to screw you out of money constantly.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting general managers promote people based on nationality. Stop screwing people out of money. Just stop!
