I have been working at Biogen full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and people. Good culture at face value if only everyone lived it. Could be good again, the potential is still there. Very green and environmentally conscious company

    Cons

Leadership, lack of global harmonization, people, systems becoming antiquated, its not what you know its who you know, what have you done for lately

    Advice to Management

People are listed as both a pro and a con in my review. Take that to heart and weed out the bad eggs. You have a great company but there are too many hangers on and people operating above their knowledge and experience level. Time for new blood that shares the company's ambition and goals!

    Pros

Good pay structure for manufacturing associates, excellent benefits.

    Cons

Company been in a more or less constant state of restructuring/upheaval for the last few years. A lot of tension on the floor, job security not what it once was.

    Advice to Management

More transparency about needlessly obfuscated information.

I have been working at Biogen (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Diverse group of employees working together to make great products. The company expends a lot of energy trying to listen and change.

    Cons

A sprawling company in a dynamic industry. It will be difficult to keep up with the expansion. It is difficult to keep pace of change required.

    Advice to Management

Don't stop saying yes to new ideas. Foster an environment that people can fail and renew in.

I have been working at Biogen full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Benefits, you meet some great people here

    Cons

Favoritism, Upper management is a hit or a miss, some of them know how to lead but others are micro managers that are only out to make themselves look good.

    Advice to Management

You should work on making your employees feel like they're appreciated and that the work they do matters. Those that work hard and want to advance, should be given the opportunity to do so.

I have been working at Biogen (More than a year)

    Pros

Good recognition of talent and hard working individuals, those who put forth effort are rewarded. Great perks include a very affordable and high quality cafeteria, free seminars, recognition programs, and team building activities. Great team, tight knit work family. Room for growth, vertical and horizontal climbing opportunities, supervisors and managers genuinely care about the development of workers. Annual bonus, long term stock incentives, great 401K and medical/vision/dental insurance, employee discounts, shift differentials.

    Cons

Work life balance is not the greatest for 10-12 hour shift workers, especially for night shift, but that's what the shift differential is for. Seems like department and/or company wide reorganizations take place too often (almost quarterly).

    Advice to Management

Keep developing your direct reports as you have been. I know change is often required for an ever-changing and developing biotech industry, but all the reorgs make people feel unstable, try to keep something the same to make people feel like there is a solid foundation.
