Pros
Due to the substantial growth that the company and industry has seen there is plenty of growth and opportunity to succeed. The employee base for the most part are incredibly friendly and are likely the driving factor for why people stay.
Cons
Compensation is not always desirable, especially considering the cost of living in the region. Employee turnover is frequent across all departments and roles which causes a variety of challenges to the delicate nature of the business.

Pros
The people are amazing and management has handled COVID-19 spectacularly. (lots of precautions, extra COVID PTO, catered lunches, etc). The company is growing like crazy, so it's easy to advance if you work hard. I see plenty of reviews about people angry at low opportunities, but coming from within the company I think it reflects more on the people who don't get promoted than the management who didn't promote them. Biosearch values people who take initiative and are self-starters.
Cons
Low end salaries, but that's a reflection of being owned by a larger company (LGC). The head of HR is a badass and is working really hard to get everyone at the company better pay & it seems to be working!

"Once a vibrant company, now in a death spiral"
I worked at Biosearch Technologies full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
I worked at Biosearch Technologies for 10+ years, helping a scrappy startup grow into a premier biotechnology company. It was pragmatic and innovative, with visionary leadership. Then it was acquired by LGC.
Cons
LGC manages their acquisitions like an extraction industry. They drive out talent through dictatorial management, broken promises, and a singular obsession on money. How much did you make me last week? What about next? The employees are not bankers selling financial products. LGC has total disregard for bad news or feedback. Poor understanding of our products and services. Do not even care to understand. Leadership will only grow what they know: hard-charging sales and marketing types who belong to their own tribe. For those working in the trenches there is mass resignation, both literally and emotionally. There is a total loss of passion when the workload is absurd and upper management is dysfunctional. They treat employees like commodities, while trying to manage from 30k feet. It is with tremendous sadness that I no longer recommend that anyone work there.

RecommendsPositive OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at Biosearch Technologies full-time for less than a year
Pros
The site director has to be one of the kindest and thoughtful people I have worked for. He walks around and he talks to the technicians and takes the time to listen to people. He is still learning but he is committed to site wide improvement and to making this a safe place to work and a place where people genuinely want to be there. The people I am surrounded with are some of the most supportive people I have ever known. When asked, they step up to the plate and they help you. What a breath of fresh air this company is after working contract positions where they don’t care about you as a person or places that have zero value for ethics and quality. Are there time that compromises are made? Of course, but in my experience every compromise is increasingly justified over time. This is not the same workplace it was when I started and I have not even been here very long. I’m so excited to grow with this company and I really feel that I have found a place here where I am welcome and make a difference and it’s so easy to feel like you are important to the company.
Cons
I’m not going to sugarcoat it - this place has some growing pains. A lot of change has been going on and it has a not very pretty past. There are remnants of culture here that are not healthy and if allowed to continue they could turn into something worse. But the site director is committed to making things better and the majority of workers are open to and committed to improving and maintaining the positive culture shift that is occurring. It takes a lot of work, but I think that since things are improving I have hope that they will continue to improve or at least that the positive changes will be maintained.
