I worked at Blizzard Entertainment part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The atmosphere in the company in one of the best I seen,. Great benefits, at lest compared to other companies.

    Cons

High levels of secrecy interfering with communications. Fairly high staff turnover causes moderate disruption. Quality of work required is higher than at competitors.

I have been working at Blizzard Entertainment full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Fantastic culture. Geeks rejoice! Very family friendly. Lots of company sponsored events for employees and their families. Everyone is very smart, which makes me feel very humbled every day. Encouraged to get out and meet others within the company. Fantastic core values that people live and breathe every day. Company really appreciates you as a contributing individual.

    Cons

Hard to onboard here, due to the tribal nature of information. Company is very set in its ways, so slow to respond and slow to move. Has a tendency to be reactive rather than pro active. Some leaders, especially ones on game teams, have egos that are rough to have to contend with.

    Advice to Management

Use the core values as a guide and continue to let everyone have a voice.

I have been working at Blizzard Entertainment full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good balance of work/private life. Geeky culture and love for video games. Regarding benefits, the company provides the bare minimum that is legally required by French law plus 1 box of chocolates, 2 boxes of macarons, one 100 Euro online shopping voucher and around 500 Euros of Blizzard balance(digital currency for Blizzard games) per year.

    Cons

Politics play too much of a role in this office. Most middle management are not qualified for the role, or got the position because of connections. Even though it's a multinational company almost all upper management and directors are French. Lack of vision and support for the regional office to the point where people are either quitting or losing motivation due to burnout. Career progression opportunities are extremely limited.

I worked at Blizzard Entertainment full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    - Good salary and developing program in time. - Amazing gaming and Blizzard atmosphere on all levels. - Good and friendly people, amazing initial training before the go. - Benefits like pension plans, med insurance, and bonuses. - Free Gym and discounted food in the canteen. - A lot of Blizzard/gaming styled recognitions.

    Cons

    - Activision (head company) has too big impact on the operations in Blizzard, as a result, there are too many changes in the structure and organization. - A lot of soft redundancy for the past two years, not really feel safe on the position you are working on.
