Great team, embracing agile ways of working, have invested in my development (Agile, MBA), investing in exciting projects and new products to try to change and improve the lives of those we support

Can be a bit slow to get stuff done but this is changing

Too much focus on end of year performance ratings and ensuring that a sufficient number of employees are deemed to be under performing. Following that process a number of high calibre employees across senior to low level managers just then disappear without a trace or acknowledgment.

Brand name albeit not what it used to be. Used to invest in its people. Good career progression in store.

Cons

No support for store teams, divisional and regional field teams doing what they like and an absolute waste of resource. Led by a women who is a joke. When I first started it used to be about genuine care for customers now it's about ripping customers off and how to maximise profits.

variety of career opportunities within the Support Office, you can discover what area interests you the most and focus on developing your skill to go in the right direction.

it can take a while for decisions to be made and projects completed

Boots is very invested about how the employees feel and what they want to change. I feel that they make a great effort to ensure this is a great place to work.

Like any large corporation, things can move a little slow... but they do make sure it's moving.

Pros

My experience working in Boots Support Office has been really good. I join two years ago as a Recruitment Administrator in the Recruitment Service Center where I was able to develop my skills in various roles I undertook within only a year working in this area. I then moved into the HR Co-ordinator role, which I found particularly interesting due to the complexity of this role. I realise how many, various and interesting opportunities there are in Boots Head Office and there is plenty of room for development and training.
