    Pros

Great Admin team working together. Benefits are unbelievable as well as the social aspect

    Cons

Management as well as the high ups were not very transparent or team players. Admin was looked at as the lowest on the pole. Very segregated by titles.

I have been working at Boston Consulting Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits. Full medical, profit sharing, 16 weeks mat leave, 8 weeks pat leave, 3 weeks vacation, 4 weeks after 5 years, free lunch. You get to work with talented/smart individuals, collaborative environment. Depending on the office you work in, there can be decent flexibility in your schedule. It looks good on a resume. We are finally rolling out trainings for business services teams that are beneficial to our work...

    Cons

Low salaries for employees on the operations side (business services). Not a lot of transparency (on ops side). Very little growth opportunities for business services teams. For assistants, who you work for can make or break you. Workloads are extremely uneven for assistants. Some of the Principals and Partners can be very difficult to work for. You aren't always treated like a human. Operations side of business does...

    Advice to Management

Invest a little more in your all your employees, not just the consulting staff. Operations is the backbone of every office.

Former Employee - Executive Assistant in Los Angeles, CA

I worked at Boston Consulting Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-great benefits and pay, esteemed firm -backbone of company culture is a hard work ethic -more good people than bad

    Cons

the pros couldn't outweigh the cons: you don't have autonomy in the role at BCG, you have to report to your manager who microanalyses you (they have eyes into your email in all regards) and micromanages you on outlook. An EA for BCG is not for the faint of heart because the nature of the company requires that you preform with the highest marks-No problem. However, there is a problem when the manger watches your screen...

    Advice to Management

-Don't allow your personal impulsive tendencies to interfere in other's professional lives. ie. don't fire and hire employees as quickly as you eloped with your partner. Exercise careful thought. // don't micromanage other's methods without careful thought, compartmentalize your personal tendencies, but accept other's methods as long as they are effective. (it's not a good sign when the team's eyes roll once you've turned...
