    Pros

Same as all the other reviews - travel

    Cons

Poor (uncompetitive) pay Long hours (think +80hours/week) Be careful of the huge amount of POSITIVE marketing that is generated by the marketing team (not you will rarely see less positive comments about the brand) Extremely negative culture Terrible office at MSQ Not good at promoting people

I have been working at Boston Consulting Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Brand name / exit opportunities - Smart colleagues

    Cons

    - Salary is extremely low and hasn't been raised in years, with no sign of an increase any time soon - Very un-meritocratic and politics dictate people's future/feedback - Promotion timelines are being delayed to keep everyone that is stupid enough to stay running in a hamster wheel for longer and longer. This is despite them hiring larger and larger groups of people each year - they seem to be moving more towards a high churn model instead of retaining the best talent - Working hours are genuinely appalling (up to 95 hours a week). Especially bad when considering how little you are paid. Cases will continue to become progressively more understaffed compared to competitors as they fail to justify their prices with brand prestige - Support mechanisms (e.g. PTO, mentorship) are in place only for show and any issues are left unaddressed - There is literally no time to use any of the benefits in the comp package so they all go unused. This also goes for COMPULSORY training which you often end up having to miss for a client call or to sit and make slides - Feedback culture doesn't really exist and often you have no feedback as most of management do not see it as a priority - The type of work is getting increasingly dull as they move away from strategy consulting to desperately capture growth All in all they have a fairly cohesive strategy - leverage whats left of the brand prestige to reel in higher numbers of graduates each year then leave them on lower and lower pay for longer and longer without promotion while they do duller and duller work with longer and longer hours with no concern if they leave because there's a few hundred more people that can take their place if they do. All the while they can use the cash from this to continue diversifying into growth areas like analytics consulting and tech implementation
