    Pros

Loads of opportunity and well paid. The training at BAT is amazing and they really take time to spend time with you.

    Cons

Expectations are sometimes to high and not attainable regardless of how much work you put in, in an industry that is forever changing.

    Advice to Management

As there is lots of favoritism sometimes they need to not be so narrow minded and see that there are other people with bags of potential.

I have been working at British American Tobacco full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1) BAT provides the challenging- but rewarding- experiences to employee, which motivates employee and really helps to develop skills in a very short period of time.
    2) Rotation is made often within the function, which helps for the total understanding of the business.
    3) For GGP, fast track program itself is a huge benefit which challenges oneself and enables one to grow faster than anyone else in other companies.
    4) As an international company, almost everyday exposure to international environment is given, working between multinational colleagues and branches.

    Cons

    1) Would not suit for person who does not like to change or challenge stretch target.
    2) It may be difficult to find work and life balance depending on which function/role you are in.

I worked at British American Tobacco full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Money and benefits are excellent.
Challenge is high - opportunity to grow is good.

    Cons

High level of politics with no outcomes.
People management is not valued by senior leaders.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to people management not just the money. Results could be even better. Poor management practices mean people are just staying for the money - not because they love working there.

Conduct exit interviews - no one ever asked my what I thought - it was like I was dead to the company when I decided to leave. Left a bad taste in mouth after many happy years.
