I worked at British Red Cross full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The British Red Cross is founded on ethics which make it a pleasure to be part of. The chain of communication is open right to the top and ideas, no matter who they come from are welcome. No matter your position in the organisation there is a constant feeling of being part of a huge, organised and determined force for good.

    Cons

The only con is the money available. Not specifically from the point of an employee, the BRC is a registered charity and money is finite. As such difficult choices have to be made as to where it could be spent with regards to services etc.

I have been working at British Red Cross full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Encouragement to progress and expand your knowledge Has various sectors within the organisation that you can access and gain experience/skills. Training is encouraged

    Cons

Constantly changing or restructuring management should find a structure and stick to it. One rule for one and different for another!! Lower salaries than national average.

    Advice to Management

    Review your management structure.

I worked at British Red Cross part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Overall aim and values of the movement are laudable. Worked with some lovely well meaning people who want to make a difference to people's lives. Some good opportunities for training

    Cons

Have you ever asked your friends and family what they think the British Red Cross does? It will illustrate one of the problems........Strong brand poor strategy, focus and execution. - Doing a little bit of everything in a slightly haphazard but at the same time rather bureaucratic and hierarchical way. - Recent reorganisation changes are huge and the impact will be far reaching.....they will continue to have an unstabilising...

    Advice to Management

Clearly define mission and strategy and work towards it. Communicate with and value your staff, you will achieve nothing without them
