RecommendsI worked at Cabinet Office UK full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
I worked in Civil Service HR where I was respected by management and colleagues and given the autonomy to develop as a professional . I had key tasks but the freedom to get involved in other work streams and reinvent staff networks and how we deliver projects and communications. There were lots of development opportunities - Assessor for Fast Stream and Apprenticeship schemes. The IT was excellent - it hardly ever failed.
Cons
Civil Service HR feels on the periphery of the Cabinet Office so not sure what it's really like to work in the Cabinet Office. Despite being the centre of government the pay is inferior to most of the key government departments.
