I have been working at Cambridge Associates, LLC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Smart people
    -Great benefits
    -Relaxed but hard working culture
    -Dress code
    -Highly respected company
-Will learn a ton about every aspect of institutional investing
    -High profile clients
    -Direct impact on company success

    Cons

    Technology is outdated
Too much process/red tape for simple tasks
    Can be slow sometimes
Compensation is lower for the industry
Upward mobility is not particularly clear

    Advice to Management

Invest in technology! If you want to save money on expenses then you need to automate a lot of the tasks that are sucking up time and money. The margins will take a hit but it will be worth it when we need to scale. This will ensure the long term health of the firm.

You understand this point but it needs to be reiterated...your people are the reason you are successful. Keep investing in them and doing what is best for them and in return they will gladly do their best work.

I have been working at Cambridge Associates, LLC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cambridge is the top institutional investment advisor in the US (and possible the world), that name recognition it itself is priceless. But the firm is really focused on employee development and engagement as well which makes for a great combination.

    Cons

The position of performance reporting can be a bit repetitive, but the exit opportunities that come from the job make up for this. Most people go on to work for a top investment firm or go to a top 20 MBA.

    Advice to Management

Higher salary for entry level, salary becomes competitive after first promotion at 6 months. But those first 6 months can be disappointing when it comes to salary. Although, overtime is a nice pro when it comes to salary.

    Pros

Collegial atmosphere, easy workload, little overtime

    Cons

    Pros

The company is filled with nice people. You have the opportunity to plan out your own day. Management is really nice. Not much room for growth.

    Cons

you have to work long hours at times. They expect you to stay late when a client needs something regardless of what time it is. Work is VERY repetitive. At first things seem nice but then you see how things really are. My advice stay away unless you want to work long hours, get anxiety and give up your personal life.

    Advice to Management

    Dived work load

I have been working at Cambridge Associates, LLC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work right out of college! The Performance Reporting Group is young and the company values having coworkers involved and having friends at work, often sponsoring happy hours and events for bonding. Decent pay for a position straight out of college.

    Cons

Not a lot of room to grow. There are four promotions and then you're done, which means a lot of turnover in the department. Managers don't get any training and since I've started we went from three managers to seven - there's definitely a worry of over-management happening. Don't get me wrong- the managers are super nice and good to work with, but really just aren't qualified for the job of helping you gain direction or get decent feedback.

    Advice to Management

Cut it out with adding new managers. If you're promoting unqualified people to be managers to keep them from leaving the company maybe you need to restructure the promotions available without just deciding everyone we like can suddenly manage people - something incredibly different from the technical work we do in the department.
