I have been working at Capco full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Flat hierarchy and approachable leaders - High quality learning and development (especially ‘milestone schools’) - Inclusive culture, underpinned by ethos of ‘Be Yourself at Work’ - Active encouragement of innovation and disruption - Genuine opportunities to build a career and take on new responsibilities

    Cons

Nothing major - I think the main challenge as Capco continues to grow is to retain the best of Capco today, while bringing greater alignment and consistency to some of the internal processes and practices

    Advice to Management

Communicate more on the future direction of the business

I have been working at Capco full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - No / limited travel for roles - Good exposure to main UK banks - Great for a graduate starting out to get exposure to large organisations - Good and helpful partners

    Cons

    - Dependent on being in the key groups at Capco to progress- if you no longer keep up with drinking and going out- hard to progress and hard to get good roles - Bonus entirely driven on work done outside of your (busy) day role

    Advice to Management

    - Address the issue of key cliques running the firm and people's career progress- without this, you will lose consultants that are respected by your clients because they are at the client site rather than in the main office socialising

    Cons

Bullying culture Bums on seats even when roles are unsuitable High staff turnover

    Advice to Management

Do not force people into projects they are not suited to. You set them up for failure.

    Pros

    - Lots of training opportunities - Many social events - very supportive staff and HR

    Cons

I have been working at Capco full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Flexible, good clients, good career progression

    Cons

They spend way too much money and employees constantly take the pi&s and claim ridiculous amounts of expenses. A lot of young consultants who don’t have any great learnings from past employment, have big egos and think they’re entitled to just be handed money. Recruitment should be far more selective.

    Advice to Management

Far too many complacent people especially at SC level. When on furlough 75% of people doing nothing, not even logged on and get away with it

    I worked at Capco full-time

    Pros

Wider business and senior leaders are really engaged in recruitment and the value it adds to the business. Those hiring for teams are well versed in what is expected of them when it comes to interviewing and feedback time frames for example. Great opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders and impact at a senior level. Some genuine nice people working in the organisation with many seeming happy to help...

    Cons

Management of the recruitment team feels autocratic and communication from the top is poor. Work/Life balance needs addressing and has created a 'them and us' feeling within the wider team. Ability to work from home and flexibility tends to be down to seniority and/or depth of personal relationship. Lacks any degree of consistency. Communication style of management was often aggressive and lacked empathy. At times...

    Advice to Management

Increase focus on team moral rather than an autocratic/KPI way of working. Treat people like adults and allow them to manage their work/life balance.

I worked at Capco full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great senior management team (Digital & Tech Department) who are incredibly bought in to the recruitment team and genuinely care about finding the right candidates for the business. Hiring managers are happy to set time aside to teach and educate you on the specific areas of which you are recruiting - rare in many companies. Lots of opportunities to learn about the industry and teams that you are recruiting...

    Cons

The recruitment team itself is heavily KPI focused and run almost identically to a recruitment agency (most who join the team want to get out of this type of environment). Expectations set to work late after work to run recruitment evenings (8/9PM) with no time back. (In interview process told once a month however was often 5 times per month) No working from home is considered unless a formal request is put forward....
