I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people are amazing, they make the company. They are so laid back no matter how senior.
The support is very good, I have a mentor and a reviewer and a buddy plus a wide network of people willing to help
The amount of training I have been offered is really good

    Cons

    Pays less than other consultancies
I am in the technology side and the projects for a business consultant aren't about innovation but about implementing IT software which isn't very interesting
Sometimes it is hard to move up ranks because promotions then to be based on time in grade and who you know rather than your ability

    Advice to Management

Consider the personal life of staff more often, take into account whether they mind living in hotels or not.
    Praise and reward more often
    Organise more socials

I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good flex benefits scheme and highly ethical company.
Variety of accounts to work on
Job for life if you just want to plod along, especially if you TUPE'd in on a decent wage.

    Cons

Grossly underpaid for the work you do. Many colleagues leave, some return to get the promotions and pay-rises they couldn't achieve whilst at Capgemini.

If you're good at your job you'll get a tough account, you'll fix it and get moved onto the next tough account. Difficult to get a promotion if on an account less than a year. Seen as lacking ambition if on an account more than 18 months.

You can be a higher grade than your own review manager.

Too much dead-wood inherited from TUPE deals - some on decent salaries based on what they were on before. You won't get more than the minimum out of them. They're after a redundancy / easy life.

    Advice to Management

Stop fast-tracking university graduates, they get experience they require, realise they are underpaid and move on.

Appoint your success stories as review managers (you know who they are!). Staff want to be guided by someone who has progressed and gained promotions. They don't want to be the same grade (or one below) an unambitious character who grumbles about his own shortcomings when he should be inspirational.

Pay the going rate and get rid of the staff who aren't pulling their weight.

I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None whatsoever honestly this company has no pros to it

    Cons

Pay is way below market standard
Outdated and complex systems - even filling timesheets takes 10 minutes
Employees are referred to as "Cheap" by senior management
Way too confusing layout/business unit focus
If you are not working you are paid to do nothing and sit at home
They have no idea what they are doing when it comes to taking over a business/migrating a customer onto their systems
No people management, you are a number and that is it.

    Advice to Management

Sack your entire migration/tupe business function they are complete lemons.
Update all of your business systems
IF YOU ARE TAKING OVER A COMPANY/TUPEING STAFF LEARN FROM THEIR EXPERIENCE.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great work/life balance
    - Working from home available on some client projects
    - Chilled company culture, not stiff and competitive like other big consultancy firms
    - Good investment into your work education (certifications etc)
    - Good social scene for the graduate scheme community

    Cons

    - Less competitive pay than other consultancy firms (a lot of people leave for this reason)
    - Not enough insight for graduate trainees to develop in different areas for their career progression
    - Can be a bit slow to get tasks executed quickly
    - Sometimes outdated in their thinking but VPs have decided to tackle this issue next year
    - Poor career progression (again, VPs have stated that they will tackle this issue... we will see)
    - Work assigned can sometimes be repetitive and not challenging

    Advice to Management

Allow for better career progression and leverage for consultants on the graduate scheme to learn more about different areas in the company
    Provide more competitive salaries
