I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice offices and not bad compensation. Not easy to get paid bonus.

    Cons

Bad culture especially in cross BU. You can sit next to someone in a hot desk and not get a murmur.

    Advice to Management

    Try and smile...

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with, opportunities to travel and do extensive training are plentiful (plus attending conferences around the globe is pretty great), benefits are extensive (health, dental, car, corporate card, etc) with stock options and a decent holiday offering (25 days + bank holidays). Spending a lot of time travelling has it perks (hotel rewards + airmiles) in places.

    Cons

There can be a bit of a lack of direction at times and the consultancy lifestyle can be highly stressful with a lot of time away from home with some site requiring a monday-friday on site presence leading to a 6 day week with travel at times. The expenses policies can be a bit outdated and there are often issues with management not knowing the very policies that they are to follow in relation to this.

    Advice to Management

Take living locations into account when getting engineers on site and further train engineers to provide better onsite support.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of freedom, flexible working, great opportunities to learn and develop, everyone's really approachable regardless of their grade.

    Cons

Despite lots of innovative thinking Capgemini itself is slow to change which can be frustrating at times.

I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good flex benefits scheme and highly ethical company.
Variety of accounts to work on
Job for life if you just want to plod along, especially if you TUPE'd in on a decent wage.

    Cons

Grossly underpaid for the work you do. Many colleagues leave, some return to get the promotions and pay-rises they couldn't achieve whilst at Capgemini.

If you're good at your job you'll get a tough account, you'll fix it and get moved onto the next tough account. Difficult to get a promotion if on an account less than a year. Seen as lacking ambition if on an account more than 18 months.

You can be a higher grade than your own review manager.

Too much dead-wood inherited from TUPE deals - some on decent salaries based on what they were on before. You won't get more than the minimum out of them. They're after a redundancy / easy life.

    Advice to Management

Stop fast-tracking university graduates, they get experience they require, realise they are underpaid and move on.

Appoint your success stories as review managers (you know who they are!). Staff want to be guided by someone who has progressed and gained promotions. They don't want to be the same grade (or one below) an unambitious character who grumbles about his own shortcomings when he should be inspirational.

Pay the going rate and get rid of the staff who aren't pulling their weight.

    Pros

Good training opportunities, staff generally treated very well, decent management, good progression opportunities if you put the work in.

    Cons

Wages are generally quite low and below market rates.

    Advice to Management

Bring wages in line with market rates.

    Pros

Amazing group of people - Everyone approachable, helpful, open minded.
    Projects varying and interesting
    Clients extremely high profile
Experience gained is invaluable to your future employment prospects
Work life balance is always a priority
Flat organisation structure - VP and Directors interact with you like you're just one of the team - No Snobbery

    Cons

    Personal Development neglected
    Salary slightly under Market Value

There has been a huge turnover of exceptional young talent over the last 5 years purely because of a lack of personal development and salary

    Review process poor and impersonal

    Advice to Management

Focus on Junior Talent more and create a pathway for success

    Pros

Very people focussed - they really do listen to their staff. Very collaborative - the culture is one of cooperation and helping one another succeed.

    Cons

None really. Yes there can be long hours - but that’s what you do when you deliver quality solutions for customers.

    Advice to Management

Don’t lose your people focus : keep on as you are.

    Pros

None whatsoever honestly this company has no pros to it

    Cons

Pay is way below market standard
Outdated and complex systems - even filling timesheets takes 10 minutes
Employees are referred to as "Cheap" by senior management
Way too confusing layout/business unit focus
If you are not working you are paid to do nothing and sit at home
They have no idea what they are doing when it comes to taking over a business/migrating a customer onto their systems
No people management, you are a number and that is it.

    Advice to Management

Sack your entire migration/tupe business function they are complete lemons.
Update all of your business systems
