I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people you work with and the genuine adherence to the company values which promote collaboration, the importance of maintaining a work-life balance and fun

    Cons

Not many local clients or much training on offer. Quite a top-heavy organisation with lots of dead wood, although conversely this makes it easier to stand out from the crowd

    Advice to Management

Break down the internal silos and become the 'One Capgemini' that we present ourselves to clients as

I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Variety of projects, good training available, knowledgeable people to learn from.

    Cons

Lots of travel (not good if you don't want it), team changes for every project

    Advice to Management

Need to create more team atmosphere

I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good work life balance, friendly colleagues and good environment to work.

    Cons

Not many opportunities for rotation and I have seen many people being made redundant once their project have ended.
I have given the best of 13 years of my life working for Capgemini UK and worked very hard to keep the contract with the client going but was shown the door once Capgemini didn't require my skill-set anymore.
The Capabilities team made loads of promises about x-training to new technologies and helping us finding new accounts to work on once our project would end.
They never kept their promises and I was put on compulsory redundancy a few months before the contract with the client was due to end.
Capabilities didn't provide any help whatsoever in finding a new account to work on.

    Advice to Management

Hard work should be rewarded to those who earn it.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you can tolerate hopeless overseas colleagues then you'll do fine - the job is easy, but be prepared for management to sneer at you for doing less than a 70 hour week (whilst never offering recognition or reward)

    Cons

Too much is *rightshored* to save firm money
No training, unless you're senior management
Have to fight for overtime to be paid
Once a year chance of promotion - overlooked if someone newer is *fast tracked* past you.
Those that are TUPE'd in often complain about feeling unwanted

    Advice to Management

Stop fast tracking, look after your current staff. Invest in the UK.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible work timings(purely depends on project)

    Cons

1.Capgemini recruits freshers with 3+ package and pays only 16k during training. After training special incentive will be added and pay will be as per the package for 12 months. After 12 months pay will be reduced 16k. The reason we got for this - Special incentive will be given till 1 year(no where it is mentioned in offer letter) and after one year as employee is eligible for appraisal, package will be corrected after appraisal. This is very bad. Funny thing in this is, it is not same for all Capgemini freshers. Only for the freshers who are in NON FS bu.
    2. In Capgemini, FS bu will act as a different company and non fs bu will act as another company. People in non fs bu will face more problems.

    Advice to Management

Please maintain equality between all people in Capgemini. BU is not what a person personally chooses. When we are doing same work why don't you give same preference.
