I have been working at Capgemini full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Capgemini is the only employers I have ever worked for that I can say is the genuinely the best. They pay employees best salary in the market, the benefits package is attractive and generous. Work life balance is attractive too. Capgemini offices are comfortable and appealing to work in. Base location is allocated that may change, they assign you to the nearest client location to your home. They give you clear and specific expectations for what success looks like in all job roles, they encourage collaboration, and networking is easy as everyone is very willing to assist you.

    Cons

Try to be more open with all employees, don't trust only the mid management.

    Capgemini Response

    September 13, 2019

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and it's good to know you're enjoying your time with Capgemini. Under the LEAD initiative we are continuing to work to try and make sure separate teams and business units are better aligned and are working more closely together, so hopefully you'll start to feel some of the benefits from that coming through in the future.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The company pays reasonable well and depending on where you are located can be flexible at times.

    Cons

Capgemini is a company that is very good at glossy self promotion and projecting an image to the world of being a market leader through its fancy logos and branding but the truth is very much the opposite. At its heart, the company is stuck in the 1970s where shareholder supremacy is prioritised over its people. The organisational structure is often referred to as a “Boys Club” by employees as its overly complex performance management systems can be manipulated to make sure those that agree, climb the ladder and those that don’t simply suffer at the bottom until they leave. Career progression can be made by some but is usually determined by how many additional unpaid hours you are willing to put into your own ideas and innovations or by how much you blindly agree with management, even if there is no value within what you are being asked to do. For anyone thinking of joining the company it is worth understanding that there are primarily two different opposing cultures within the organisation. The first is made up of all of the engineers, testers, developers etc that live and breath the company values daily and second is made up of layers upon layers of management that are willing to sacrifice not only the company values but also the people for short term gain. Generally, due to the nature and experience of the middle management, the company is not very good at looking after its people and for those that have worked for the company for as long as I have, it hurts to be made to feel like just a name on a spreadsheet that can be wiped off to hit an arbitrary projection.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good training, people generally friendly, corporate events are well run, can retain good people for decades

    Cons

The project pipeline in the UK is very poor, often you will not be able to work in the way you are trained to do as clients have poor working hygeine

I have been working at Capgemini full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good technologists onshore and good training provided for all levels. Have some interesting projects to work on in all sectors

    Cons

There is a lot of emphasis placed on sales as you get more senior. There is a tendency to include lots of process in the sales bid which sometimes means loosing out on interesting projects and/or spending long periods involved in bidding process rather than delivery

I have been working at Capgemini full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The best technical and relaxed colleagues I've worked with. Most of them are Drupal Core contributors, the devops are have broad technical and great soft skills too. I would have a pint with any of them, any time.

    Cons

Incompetent senior management. Old guys, who stopped DOING and MAKING technology 20-30 years ago. They are talking about fancy keywords, such as cloud and big data without the technical knowledge to implement the current practices. The salary is ok, but does not follow the change of the consumer price index and skill growth. Benefits spread unbalanced between staff.
