I worked at Care UK full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Friendly colleagues, nice environment in new build homes

    Cons

Home managers can be very unsteady in terms of quick turnover. Training is inconsistent and depends on the strength of the home administrator's multi-tasking skills. Administrators often expected to do a lot more than they have time for, and tasks above their pay grade. Salaries vary widely too depending on home budgets.

I worked at Care UK full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great caring colleagues that work hard even though they are poorly paid and treated. Lovely residents that deserve better

    Cons

Awful Management Poor pay, no benefits Huge blame culture Huge staff turnover Terrible management that have no care towards their staff or their residents.

    Advice to Management

Stop blaming staff for your mistakes, start to be what your called, I.e. Care !!!!! Relook at your pay structure and offer benefits Listen to your staff and take on board what they are saying about your management team whether it be good all bad Think about why you have such a big staff turnover, there’s obviously something wrong with your company and who’s leading it.

I worked at Care UK full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay, busy work, lots to learn and able to be involved in lots of HR related cases and daily tasks.

    Cons

Poor management, local-level recruitment not great, Head Office out of touch with what happens in the homes, too much focus on high numbers of care staff working for resident benefit (which makes staff less stressed and happy at work) making staff feel overworked and under valued.

    Advice to Management

Focus on staffing levels which allow the residents to live enriched lives. The home administrators are often criticised for missing small tasks when there are so many that they do and they consistently do it well, but one small failure is made out to be the biggest catastrophe. You will see less administrators leaving if more time and effort is invested in developing them and their future careers- there is no progression...
