I have been working at Care UK full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Careuk has allowed me to develop my career during my time with them, five years ago I started as domestic and a bank career from there I went to head housekeeper to Business admin to Deputy manager. Careuk has also funded my level 5 and supported me every step of the way.
During my time at Careuk I have seen other staff develop from kitchen assistant to head chef, carer to activity lead, carer to team leader. If training is where your heart lays Careuk has many train the trainer courses where you can support and help develop the training needs in the homes.
Britten court has a family feel and if your looking to work in care than Careuk is a great choice.

    Cons

Would like to be able to sell annual leave back to the company.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for the great opportunity’s.
Chloe home manager Britten court thank you for always being g understand and such a great support to everyone.

I have been working at Care UK full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay rate, increasing every 6-12 months to match with the competition
Great time off from work on annual leave holidays
Access to plenty of extra shifts
Ideal deputy manager and CLN which work close to senior staff
    Outstanding CQC rated environment
Flexible shifts and enough room to develop if interest is present

    Cons

No sick pay scheme for current level of staff
Limited nursing or senior staff contracts to up to 45 hours
Employer is forced due to staff shortages to move you on nights or out from nights
Unstable environment due to some non-interested newcomers in domain
No scheme of increasing salary by % for each year remaining together

    Advice to Management

Say "Hello" before asking or guiding for a new task
Open and listen advices if the target of Outstanding is to be permanent
Be tolerant towards your senior staff which support and guide for years
Remain stiff and firm in front of new-comers who want to cut corners and have demands (which in balance make the older ones feel put on second spot)
Spread the workload even on the same ranked staff as they all get the same pay

I have been working at Care UK full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Care UK is a forward thinking company that keeps up to date with the latest standards and research. They are hugely centred on residents and their wellbeing. Care UK is a fun, exciting company and not purely focused on care but the whole approach. They are very innovative and creative, and all colleagues have the ability to progress in their career. They also celebrate colleagues wonderfully with the GEMS programme and Awards Ceremony every year.

    Cons

No company is perfect and there is always room for improvement. There are a few Cons to think of; new ideas that colleagues want to introduce in homes can be held up by red tape when it comes to senior management. Wages could be more in line with the cost of living rising. Senior management can also be rather disconnected with those who work on the 'shop floor' as it where.

    Advice to Management

Look at wages. Try and foster a more bottom up approach as opposed to a top down approach. Streamline wages for colleagues in the same role with the same skills. Advertise wages like other providers.
